Observer Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 What is so confusing about the whole mess is that the official on the far side clearly blew his whistle for a foul and counted the basket. Then goggles comes in and puts his two cents in, comes to the table and appears to signal to count the basket. Then says the game is over and runs off. I just don’t get what he thought he saw to be able to overturn that Quote

Yes it is odd that the other official, I believe his name is wright, while on the way to the scorers table stopped and went back to crig to talk about it. Then Dotson comes in and takes maybe only 2-3 seconds to convince them that it was no good? Odd that those two took such a short time to be convinced otherwise Quote

Just don’t know how many have that bad of a call and that big of an ego, normally he does a little better than that, but like everyone else was eluding to, his ego is what gets him in trouble Quote

The ref came over to the scorers table, said count the basket, made the "count the basket " motion... then said game over and made the "game over" motion, then took off running. I would be curious to see if anything further happens with this. Did he not know the score was tied?? Did anybody else hear and see the "count the basket"? Quote

Well if that's what happened, then the other two referees should have corrected him and brought him back out on the floor. If there was any question, they should have went to the scorers table to figure it out. I mean surely the other two would have tried to figure out why Tazewell's coach was going off on them if they thought Tazewell had just won. I just don't buy it.
