VHSL reclassification

There's some wild swings in class size for some of these schools. Floyd has 141 in the current junior class and 108 in the freshman class. Radford has 153 in the junior class and 115 in the sophomore and freshman classes respectively. Tazewell has 130 juniors and 103 freshmen. Graham has 106 sophomores and 126 freshmen. Madison County has 140 juniors, 142 sophomores, and 99 freshmen.

Dude, you suck at VHSL stuff.  Radford's 153 was it's 9th grade - Class of '29.

C'burg's getting larger, too... had 274 in 9th,  246 in 10th.

If you want accurate numbers wait until day 15 or the  first Monday after Labor Day , walk into the  school and get 1st Period/Block class rosters from guidance office?  Just a thought

I've said for years, use the enrollment figures school system funding from the Virginia Department of Education is based on. If school systems fudge numbers to play down in classification, they will get less tax dollars from the state.

Those STILL won't be accurate, since it'll be a full year before the new alignment starts.

Actually, they DID that for years.  And the schools HATED it!!!
Sports is funded by the football gate.
Using the 9/30 ADMs, it was Dec. before they had a plan. Then with appeals, it was Feb. before some schools knew what District they'd be in. That's a bit late to make a football schedule, or to re-do a bunch b/c someone lost an appeal to stay where they were. AD's pushed to use Spring numbers so they'd could do their contracts in the Fall.

For what it's worth in my region (C) PM stands for Parry McCluer, the Fighting Blues, who have won 5 football state championships..

Who ever runs the Student Information System per school/district  determines how kids are labeled and how number reported to VDOE.  Admin can code kids like they want.....not hard at all to modify the numbers especially if talking 5-10 kids

Why someone is opposing Liberty Christian moving up to 3A is wrong unless they want them to go up to 4A.
