Yes with Lebanon losing to Marion Graham clinched it. But outside of the one seed the SWD seeding is determined by tourney.

So whoever advances the farthest out of Leb/Richlands/Marion or could VHS or Tazwell get like rhe two seed if they finish second behind Graham in tourney?

Or if one of those win the tournament , if Graham plays like they did last night, they might not win the tournament. A humbling loss can work one of two ways, we’ll see how Graham handles that loss going forward. Better a loss now than win or go home season.

Whoever makes the tournament championship is the two. If Graham doesn’t make it there whoever does will be playing for the 2 or 3

So there’s a scenario where say, Lebanon, the second best team clearly over the regular season, could fully miss 2D tourney if they get bounced round one? Graham is locked in but you could see 2-3-4 be Tazwell-VHS-Richlands or something? That would suck for Reese and co.

No offense to the Bulldogs but I’d be shocked if they ended up in regional play. On the other hand, I’ve been shocked twice already this week why should district tournament be any different. If you’d told me a week ago, Marion would beat Lebanon & Richlands would be beat Graham, I’d probably laughed so I guess don’t count Tazewell out.

After what we witnessed last night now is probably not the best time to say this...Lord Willing when it's all said and done i believe Graham will be holding the state championship trophy in Richmond. Congrats to Richlands they took it to Graham last night and I think the margin of victory should have been more with Graham benefiting from some calls last night. @Real Sasquatch called it before the season even started that Graham devoid of the big man might really cost them and it showed. Many times last night Richlands took away Graham athletic advantage and backed them down in the post and it became Will vs Will, Strength vs Strength good game plan for the tornadoes. Like I said now isn't the time to be saying it but Fix, Dissabio and Martin all on the same team isn't fair. Martin being only a sophomore that kid is special and he hasn't even begun to scratch the surface of his capabilities. Fix had an off night and it happens but what Blake Graham was to Graham last year Fix is that for the gmen this year. Graham is hurt today but in March they will be celebrating

Add Va High to the being shocked, I think this Va High team might be the worst team to ever come across swva in 2a

But it is possible right? The 2-3-4 teams aren’t locked in and the finish would determine the seeding, it’s purely the tourney so it could be Lebanon and Marion at home and Tazwell, Richlands and VHS making the tourney. I believe the M7 or the LPD may have done something similar in the past. Hell maybe the M7 still does it I dunno lol

If Lebanon secures the 2 seed for the regular season they receive a bye for the district tourney, giving them the auto bid to region, just not a guaranteed two seed

I agree. I really like Graham's starting 5, but fatigue is a factor. Union is blessed with the depth to win it if Bostic can get well.

Good grief, sounds as bad as Richlands’ girls against Graham last night. It was pitiful.  I think a lot of players are missing basic skills. I’m not sure if the blame lies in coaching or players or a combination of both. Let’s face it, in general a lot of athletes aren’t made like they used to be. The level of girls’ basketball in SWD is pretty dismal compared to 10-15 years ago.

I agree it's not what it use to be, none of our girls would make it to the region tourny if they were in the m7.  For the boys I'm not saying this is the main answer but I think with the advance of video games kids are more tuned into it then trying to polish and perfect their craft. Va High still my boys but bless their hearts

I’m almost 100% certain Lebanon and Marion are going to play for first due to having tie breakers over everyone. I’d assume they play the playoff game at v high
