Hell I seen a screenshot that showed Turner still on payroll in January.  Not sure how true it was but its believable

If that’s true, that’s absolutely ridiculous. Wise County seems so messed up right now.it seems like every  week something comes up.

That’s wild. I don’t begrudge giving his coaching stipend to his family but continuing to pay the salary of a man who hasn’t been at work since November is crazy. Anyone in any other employment would be fired for not showing up for 3 months regardless of everything else.

My employer wouldn't be giving me anything or my family if i got fired.

It’s kind of hard to fathom that he’s still employed with the school system. I realize everyone deserves his or her day in court but geez, if not fired at least unpaid leave.

Possible PTO saved up after years of employment? Not uncommon for a local, state, or fed gov employee to have 90, 120, even 150 days saved up after years of work. Don't know if it's the case here.

Didn't thinks of that.  Guess he saving up for good lawyer

I believe all of his money is going into an escrow account for now though until everything is settled with law enforcement since he was first suspended.  In the end I assume the county school system recoups everything due to the charges though.

Normally, one requests leave to use that much PTO, calls in , etc. If he rarely took a day off, he probably did have several months of PTO. If Wise County folks don’t have an issue with it, I guess no one outside of Wise should. Still kind of wild though.

I have no issue with it, he wasn’t fired for a bit. A lot of crusaders around BSG seem to shout that it’s something nefarious but it’s a union job with state regulations, they can’t just fire him without cause until an investigation has been completed. Anyone thinking they’re trying to cover anything up in this situation is just grasping at straws, they’re gonna be as transparent as humanly possible with all the attention surrounding everything.

I don’t think Virginia teachers are unionized but yes, I’m sure school system is trying to not get into any legal issues. I never thought they were doing anything nefarious by paying him. I just found it odd that they were when RichRich shared it.

Agree. If it is PTO that he's getting paid for, that means that at many times over many years when he was able to be off or have vacation, he didn't take it. Lots of people do that. They aren't "stealing it." Its theirs. I had 13 weeks of vacation saved up at the Arsenal about 4 years ago and my boss approached me and asked why I had 13 weeks. The approach was if "I stole it" or "Did a Magic Trick" to get to 13 weeks. He knew as do most people how you get that much time saved up. It means you did not take that time for many years. All of those years when I was only take 1 or 2 weeks of vacation, his as$ wasn't beating down the door at the time asking me "why aren't you taking vacation."

Local news on it now

I’m sure a bunch of folks contacted school board members when it came out that he’d been paid these last three months.
