Its a Down yr for Grundy but they will still  have multiple state champs.  So not a bad problem to have.     Hopefully they stay 2a when they consolidate.  3A and I just don't see them being able to compete

I still say there’s a good chance Grundy pulls state out I think their 6 region champs will likely all win state but adding the other regions may hurt RR more than Grundy. It’ll be interesting for sure and might come down to the wire

Yeh they should have a few state champs giving them a lot of points.  Id like to see them pull it out.  Salem civic center still sucks

You heard wrong...rural retreat knocked three of Grundy's weight classes out from qualifying for state

That’s incorrect Grundy had no 113 or 175 so no one knocked those kids out. The 126 didn’t qualify but he didn’t wrestle a Rural Retreat kid at all, 132 didn’t qualify but he lost his consolation match to qualify also not to a Rural Retreat kid. I’m not going to pretend that Rural Retreat isn’t a very good team and didn’t have a good tournament but it was very close. There were some deep weights and their best wrestlers didn’t match up weights

They did during the regular season.
But post-season is different.

My bad guys someone told me wrong...good luck to all teams except grundy tomorrow and Saturday lol. I think it's funny how nobody thinks rural retreat will win.  And the excuses I've seen of why grundy lost the region d tournament.  RR is on a mission this year.  We shall see.

Wishing ALL teams & wrestlers in SWVA sports coverage area good luck even Grundy & even Rural Retreat and definitely Graham! Hopefully, we’ll have several state champions & medalists from this side of the state.

I've not seen a single excuse from anyone associated with Grundy in fact all season long everyone has said it's going to be tight and it is going to be tight. Every match in the consolation is going to be huge Rural Retreat won nearly every match they had to at regionals and Grundy had a couple that they couldn't afford to lose and lost.  Rural Retreat has what Grundy had last year a very senior heavy team that has been together a long time.
