Wise plays Abingdon, GC plays Union for the championship. If Wise loses, GC is the two, regardless of if they win in the late game.

Yeah I just now turn it on and realize I said Gate City vs Abingdon, I meant GC vs Union.

Let's just say Abingdon is one of the 4 teams left in the conference tournament and we'll use Gate City at 5th and Battle at 7th, if Gate City were to lose in the 1st round and Lee pulled the upset in the 1st round, where Abingdon goes to class 3 would Lee have to win the conference tournament to over jump Gate City for the 4th seed

Gate City is a little down but I think it'll be much like the 1st game this year close but Gate City finds a way to win.

Just heard something disturbing that I had no clue of, I noticed one of the starters for the Va High girls has been absent as of late, I just assumed she was injured. It was brought to my attention that the girl and the head girls coach Timmons who also serves as the assistant athletic director at Va High was in a full blown fist fight at Tazewell after the game. The way I understood it-it wasn't a one way affair both were throwing punches, then Timmon suspended the player but she didn't give him the chance, she quit. I don't know all the details what initiated it but I'm surprised that they're still letting him coach and serve as assistant athletic director

I believe Wise beat Abingdon. So if GC can’t hang on here up five in the fourth, they go to Lebanon. If they win, they host Marion while Wise goes to Lebanon.

Wow!  That’s crazy!  Timmons can be intense, so I can’t say it surprises me he would have a confrontation with a player, but a full blow fist fight?

I agree, kind of crazy no action was taken against him.

I agree. In some circumstances, POY may not be from team that won district. Traditionally, yes the POY is from district championship team but not always a given. Let’s face it, those accolades are pretty much nothing in grand scheme of things, a lot of politics. I saw some players make all state for positions they didn’t really play in football.

I agree with you 100%.  All district teams and POY voting is nothing but politics

Politics I’m sure are a part of it, wins do matter, if u get all your points in junk time when the other team has already won and subbed, you don’t deserve it!  You shouldn’t have to win POY only if you win the conference, but your team, I think, has to be competitive!  A lot of bad teams have players that score, that are the best on their team but not POY material.

Truth. When players are awarded honors for positions they didn’t play, no one takes it seriously. All district, region and state honors have definitely gotten out of hand with all the politics involved.

Easily? Witt has to be leading the district in scoring and steals.  Moore led her team to first place in the district. Trivette is a good player but Abingdon was the preseason choice for first place and finished fourth.

Can’t penalize Trivett because she is on a team with a bad Coach.   Let her play at Central and see what happens.   The talent is there.  Just not utilized.

Trivette is going to play at a P5 school-it’s really not in question who the best player is.   
 

Although, her not winning might be good because it would show what a joke the whole process is

Trivette is going to a Power 5 school, so I would say she is a little better than a "good" player.  There are factors not based on ability and production that may turn some off when it comes to Witt.  If Brown would get out of his own way, Trivette would average 30 a game.
