That Lebanon/Central first round matchup on the boys side should be a good one. Graham, Gate City and Union should be the heavy favorites in their games.

Graham is the only one that’s probably a heavy favorite in round one.

id say Graham has 95% chance

Gate City with 75%

and honestly I think Richlands matches up well with Union, unions still of course the favorite but I wouldn’t be shocked if their offensive inefficiencies catch up to them this time. I’d still say 65% but wouldn’t be surprised either way

Lebanon slight favorites over central 52%

Being a John Battle fan - Cinderella has to go looking for the slipper and can’t fear the almighty
It will depend on which team shows up, the team that played at a very high level for a 5 game stretch or the team as of late

I’m not saying they can’t do it now, but the team that’s showed up the past couple of weeks has been pretty disappointing compared to their mid season performances.

The one thing about Richlands is they will come to play, they’re not intimidated in the least even when outsized. If Herndon & Boyd get hot early, I wouldn’t be surprised with Richlands’ win. Coach Moore has done a good job. I expect Union to win but I won’t be at all shocked if the Blues pull the upset.

If Bunch and Bostic are playing well, they are tough to beat.  Bostic had the flu 2 weeks ago and he still looks like he is recovering from that.  Or at least he did Saturday night.

Someone tell me why Region 1D can have all their games in one location but Region 2D cannot?

1D pre-determines the region site and 2D rotates between the M7 and SWD and top seed gets to host.

I get that. Again, why can Region 2D plan for the tournament to be in the same site?

2D likes to have their district champ host for each rotation it seems.  The only way you get it all at one site is if the boys/girls from X district win the regular season.  1D makes way too much sense.

Region 2D has two districts that rotate who hosts. When the M7 hosts the tournament it should be at UVA-Wise, and when the SWD hosts it should be at Virginia HIgh. This should apply to both boys and girls.

Va High is not a neutral site, so this makes no sense.

UVA-Wise does a tremendous job hosting the Cumberland District Tournament. Chris Davis and his crew give it a state tournament feel.

I agree that the college does a great job when they host the high school games.  My only complaint is the obnoxious screaming into the microphone on every scored basket.

I think the #1 seed should get to decide.

Same.  Playing at Wise seems like you’re doing Central a favor. Let the top seed decide and then rotate years.

Could hold it at SWCC. They have a big enough gym and it’s central-ish to the Class 2 schools.
