Honorable Mention: Jake Hilton (Sr.) Only problem I have with it is I feel like Hilton should have been at least 2nd team, maybe even first. Another example on how everything’s voted on way too early, pouring in 26 points against the region champs in your last game on the hardwood should be enough to get you on the all region team Quote

Martin is the guy that wouldn't surprise me if hes a candidate for POY next year along with Dissibio. Martin has some serious natural talent and it took off and started to really show by seasons end. Has a scary high ceiling. Dissibio may be POY next year. I just I dont think it will be easy. The kid from Woodstock can play. Is there a rule that junior's can't get POY? Im not aware of it, but there might be. I think Dissibio and Martin will both be so good next year that they hinder each others chances for POY as one of them could score 32 or 33 per game, but there unselfishness leads to 16 or 17 a game for each player. Thats also why Graham cut the nets down. The improvement by Dissibio from his sophomore to junior year was alarming and as Stelley said, if he does similar improvement to his senior year, then I also think hes a POY candidate. But, not a lock or an easy POY award. The kid from Central will challenge for that award or at least be in the mix. Quote

But I’m sure most would agree he’s basically twice as good as he was last year so it’s highly unlikely he will get that much better again but if he did I’d say it would basically be his to lose Quote

Comegetsum Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 These awards are wild All who wants to vote for who and who they like. Coaches do not like Graham’s success in sports. Region player of year is wild also but we all know how it works !! Disibbio and Martin could be up for player of year for sure. But the will hurt each other like one guy said. Disibbio doesn’t shoot enough avg maybe 11 attempts a game very unselfish to avg 22. martin is same probably shoots little more but not much more. Quote

Bball_Fan Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 You could also say Hayes could be Region D POY considering he carried Central through the Region D tournament and scored 112 points in the three Regional Tournament Games. They should have a pretty good run again next season and he could be a good candidate for State POY. Bostic is a good player that benefited from his dad being the head coach and everything was ran through him. IMO Bunch was the best basketball player on that team. Averaging 20 while your teams only scoring 40-45 a game because majority of the shots are coming from one guy isn’t as impressive. Now maybe everyone else is just that bad but it’s hard to think from what I’ve watched that bunch was worse than Bostic offensively, also think bunch and Anderson both shot the three ball better than Bostic this year. Bostic however did benefit from easy points coming off steals which does help Quote
