Bcats Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 Via Facebook post Julius Gallishaw will no longer be the head coach at Va High, I don't know all the details why, I could be wrong but my guess would be they want the jv coach to be the head coach so they can center the team around his son and all he did the past season coaching his son was have him shoot 100x a game, if so that's dirty but I could be wrong Quote

If they did I wouldn’t be complaining if he headed up 19 Bcats 1 Quote

The team just wasn't good this year and had Landon stayed the team still wouldn’t have been any good, sucks Quote

Man this is one of the hardest posts l've done Without going into details, family and friends I will no longer be the Virginia High Schoo, Head Bovs Basketball Coach. I love coachinc oasketball but being around, teaching and mentoring young people is my passion! I will continue to do so in some capacity or another would like to thank all the family and friends who supported me in my 6 year tender here at VHS. We didn't do so bad... 100 percent graduation rate, had a few graduate top 10 in their class, 91-42 overall basketball record, 4 State Tournament appearances, along with an State Championship appearance (first in 64 years a VHS). And a few Coach of the Year awards Thank you all for your support! Anyone who knows me personally, is aware that it's not over for me! I WILL BE BACK! I just copy and paste it without really reading the copy of it and I don’t know why it turned out that way, that's why at the end it's a bunch of letters that doesn’t make sense, but on his post the spelling is correct, he said he loves coaching basketball and when God closes one door he opens another, sorry for that I should have read it and corrected it before posting Quote

I could be wrong but I honestly think they just wanted the JV coach to become the head coach just to be able to coach his son and va high having a bad season this year in their eyes justified the firing. I can't begin to tell you the talk around this kid they're talking him up like he's going to be the next McClung and I don't see it. Julius wouldn't allow the kid to shoot his arms off the whole game as to his dad will. There was Facebook post from the Va High fans and cheerleaders before the game even started against Floyd about the unfair treatment that they’re receiving. I think the cheerleaders had it worst of all and they were saying they would never return to Floyd County, I don't think they felt safe and then the game started and Landon and Mozzell was quickly whistle for 3 fouls apiece made it even look more suspicious. Now I wasn't there but the stuff I heard i wouldn't put on here. It made me think that's why Floyd couldn't use their gym in the region tournament against Graham. I think that's why he was allowed to keep his job after the Floyd game because Va High staff, administration, fans, coaches and players really united what they deem was unfair Quote
Bcats Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 Good luck to Graham and Union go represent SWVA Besides Wise Central and Gate City has there been any other M7 team to win state Quote

tbgfan Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 It is a beautiful day of sunshine we have been graced with. May it be a beautiful day for the Union Bear girls, the Graham G-men, Fort Chiswell boys, and tomorrow for the Abingdon Falcon girls basketball teams. To have four local teams to ascend to the championship game AWESOME!!! Today may you shine on the courts of adversity. Play as one, win as one. At the end of the game may you be holding the trophy you won. Unchained, Bcats and 1inStripes 2 1 Quote

Huge win over James Monroe recently and the Beavers advance to the WV AA Final 8 against Petersburg. James Monroe's season was abruptly ended by the Beavers. Bluefield is the 3 seed and Petersburg is the 6th seed. If Bluefield wins, they likely get a showdown in the semis against Wyoming East, if W. East wins their quarterfinal game. cityofRaven 1 Quote
Bcats Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 Witt is the truth Clarke County doesn't have anybody to stop her Quote
appyvol Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 Announcer is just flabbergasted Union can play with Clarke. Like there's two M7 girls teams playing for the state championship. It's good basketball on this end. Quote
