I don't know that I would want every postseason matchup to be a series, but I do kind of wish state play was.  At least the finals.

Some valid points here indeed.  
I may be wrong and dare to say that it has been a very long time since a 2A Virginia school has stepped up to the plate and beat the 6A typical powerhouse in Science Hill or DB.   If someone can recall it would be good to know. Could it be decades?  A 2A VA school beating a 6A TN school and program.   

A great win for the Trojans and marquee win for the kids of the program.

Pitching wise, Battle appears to of have faced a plethora of arms due to them knocking the starting pitcher out the game early.

Elite relief pitching. Wagner and Neff went 5+ IP and gave up one run. Wagner was lights out, 3 1/3IP 5K 1BB.

Whenever the starting pitcher also happens to be the best pitcher in his class you tend to have your fingers crossed he would get himself out of it.

I will go to my grave saying Neff is the best pitcher on the staff. Skeen throws hard, but Neff has much better command. JSB pounded Skeen last year as well so they have his number.

I don’t believe many would agree, when Liam is on he’s absolutely electric. Neff is also very very good but he’s gonna have to work back to 100% getting a late start.

Skeen has more heat, but a completely healthy Neff is the one I'd want on the bump in crunch time. Folks get awed easily with the hard throwers, but guys like Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine taught me otherwise:). Like I said Battle has lit Skeen up twice. They seem to be a bad matchup for him. He is usually a solid hurler though.

Skeen dominant this evening in a 12-0 win over a good Lee squad, tossing a no-hitter.

Union couldn’t find any offense against Abingdon and the Falcons chased Skeen early after giving up five runs in two innings. But lefty Wagner comes in in a high leverage spot, again, and was dazzling. Allowed one inherited runner to score but was lights out, going four innings and allowing just one hit. 
it was 6-0 Falcons in T7 when I left.

Skeen has to learn some off-speed...curve...slider something. Teams like Battle and Abingdon are dead red fastball hitters. You just aren't going to get the strike 3 finish vs them without a mix-up. Wagner is going to be special 9IP vs two explosive offenses and a lone run allowed.

And he didn’t get the earned run, he inherited that runner. One hit in 7+ IP against Battle and Abingdon.

Nah, don’t believe so unless it’s super distant. But one of his cousins is like a super genius. Really handsome guy too, top shelf athlete who has never been wrong about a sports opinion IIRC.

He's also a very humble and respectful young man. He always calls me Mr. Lewis. Not a lot of kids these days do that. He's very easy to pull for

Union seems to be hitting their stride and continuing to improve by posts here. Arguably, I don’t keep up with M7 baseball but I’m betting the next meeting could go Union’s way.
