SXSW Posted April 1 Report Posted April 1 Gate City will be a lot like last year's team, but they will be very young. If the line develops, they will be decent. The have two very good young RB's one's a Soph and the other will be a freshman. In high school football it's all about the line play: can you get a yard when you need to get a yard, and can you stop someone from getting the yard they need. Quote
vol_husky Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 Gate City just isn’t what they once were. Good tradition there. Would be nice to see Gate City back to the level that they used to be. Teams like Union, Graham, and Gate City being perennial powerhouses is exciting to watch. Quote
jreed97 Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 They’re on their way back. Over the last 4 seasons they’ve beat who they were supposed to & lost to who they were supposed to. Middle school program is successful. Weight program seems to be in good shape. Assistant coaches seem to be quality. HC loves the kids, works his ass off, & is God fearing without a whiff of scandal. It all comes back around Quote

I told a GC fan while we were walking back to the vehicles after we played them that you could see things turning. GC will be GC again very soon.
