Does anyone know who’s looking good for the Blues this summer?

I know the prior post mentioned Absher.

Who’s going to throw him the ball and who will be other targets or ball carriers?

It seems like @Minj3 from other thread knows who QB is going to be by the comment he made. Who was backup last year? Maybe that’s who he’s referring to.

Thanks for the response. He may know, but what little signs I do hear do not point in a clear direction. (Backup 1 transferred. Backup 2, whom I heard initially isn’t playing football.)

I am totally clueless this season. Before the craziness, I would have had an idea on a couple of skill positions. Now…..

There a few kids who are hard-working that I really like. I’m not sure of stars/game changers. I have no idea what has happened to what used to be a selection of linemen that was second to none until the last several seasons.

J. McGee’s son is slated for the spot, barring injury. He was not rumored to be HC Ronnie Davis’ pick. But HC Davis (and the OC) were conspicuously relieved of their duties.

I had heard that he’s not playing football, so 🤷‍♂️

And it’s worthy to note Breeding wanted to be a LB not a lineman despite being around 285lbs… Davis wouldn’t go for it, but I bet Bubba feels differently

I hope he’s got speed to burn at 285lbs if he’s going to be a LB instead of a lineman.

That's what I was thinking.  Does he have the speed to pursue?  Some of the best linebackers that I can recall at the high school level were some of the ones on the smaller side.

I would put my money on some well coached up kid from Graham, because they've been doing that shi% since 1960.  Expect some name you have never heard of to wreak havoc on his district opponents.

Kassius Johnson coming to a field near you soon.  Getting coached up....  improving every day.

I agree. Let’s just say the kid is tall, maybe 6’3” , 285 is still heavy to be playing LB even at that height. I have no clue how tall the kid is but at any height 285lbs doesn’t seem like a typical LB weight. I’d say average would be 180lbs-200lbs , give or take. Like I said, he better be quick  to catch a Cambel Fix or Kam Bostic type of speed.

If he's got the wheels off his daddy, he will be more than quick. 285 is a lot of weight for a backer, even in the middle. I wonder if most of his weight is in his legs. Brannon had tree trunks for legs, and much shorter than his kid. I feel confident about one think without having to see him. If he's remotely like his dad, he will take your head off and not shy from contact.

I don't doubt that at all.  It will definitely be interesting seeing that big of a kid at LB, if that's where he ends up.

He'll be down to 250 by years end.

He may very well be quick and agile. If he’s 1/2 as good as his dad, he’ll be a difference maker and fun to watch. It will be interesting to what position daddy ends up putting him in.

Been hearing the Horne kid from Lebanon is coming out for football this year. Has great height and length, and speed you just don’t see at that height around here. He was named FOTC Rookie of the Year in both basketball and baseball last year.

But again, Lebanon’s always had pretty solid skill players but have been hurt by lackluster line play

What is FOTC?
