CriticalNoise Posted September 5 Report Posted September 5 Let's get it going. Union with potentially 2 starting linebackers (and one of them is the #1 RB) out due to injury coming up in week 3 that will make a huuuge difference. Union still hasn't seemed to figure out to stop the short passing game and still continues to get dinked to death. From a personal perspective, I see a Graham 35-14 type game here. Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted September 5 Report Posted September 5 Graham still has to play Heritage first. I'm just hopijg they come out of it healthy. CriticalNoise and Graham32 2 Quote

I heard some talk this morning Graham is in fact down some starters for today. This may be where lack of depth on the line hurts them. A couple younger kids may get a chance to grow up today. Let’s hope they can rise to the occasion and no one else gets injured. Quote

Union_Fan Posted September 5 Report Posted September 5 I was fully expecting a Graham victory next week in a semi close game (14pts), but now with the known and unknown injuries, I'm not sure what the outcome is going to be. Hate it for both squads. Quote
Real Sasquatch Posted September 6 Report Posted September 6 If Palmer is not a go for Graham on Friday at QB, Union wins. If Palmer plays, I give the edge to Graham. Quote

This is what I was afraid of would happen today. Already banged up and got more hurt and not only that, but the biggest playmaker on the field. Gridiron60 1 Quote
goose111874 Posted September 6 Report Posted September 6 With all the injuries on both teams and both having a good defense this game may go out 7-0. Hopefully Union works on their kickoff coverage because it was terrible Friday. Quote

I wouldn’t consider anything equal about one team being without a QB. But to your point , I’ll take Tony Palmer, Snake, & his other assistants if talent & injuries are equal. The defense should still be pretty strong, despite being down a couple starters. Quote
Union_Fan Posted September 6 Report Posted September 6 Missed the first part of the Heritage game, so I'm rewatching. Looks like Palmer(QB) took a shot to the knee on Graham's 1st offensive play of the game. He was immediately a little gimpy after that. Wondering if that's the original injury. Quote

Hearing it's a knee injury. So, possibly. Hope he gets back at least a few weeks before the playoffs to get some reps in and be game ready. Hopefully the news won't be season ending.... Quote

I know that injuries mount as the season goes along, but it seems there has been an abnormal amount across the region after only 2 weeks. Quote
FBDevotee Posted September 6 Report Posted September 6 Football season, at every level, is a game of attrition, and, unfortunately, injuries occur quite often. I hope none of the regulars miss the game this week. Union does have about 60 students on their roster and depth is an advantage the Bears have over many on their schedule this fall. I'm hoping for another exciting contest between these schools but, because of the injury stories, I won't make a prediction - other than another full stadium at Bullitt Park. I hope and pray no additional injuries. CriticalNoise 1 Quote

I thought the GMen looked like a whole different team without Palmer. The offense looked like they were lost without him. If Palmer doesn’t get to come back, unless they find a good replacement for him, it could be a long year. I just feel Graham has to many athletes also, they just have to find it. I hope Palmer heals and comes back. I love watching him! Real Sasquatch 1 Quote
vol_husky Posted September 6 Report Posted September 6 I can see Union winning this game, then losing the rematch if it happens. Quote
