  1. I stated before on this thread and I'll say it again. Union rolls. Despite Richlands (which is a rivalry game and that makes it unpredictable) Union has handled everyone else they played this year. MTW we lost 5 or maybe six 6 turnovers and still won against a school twice our size. That and we have the most physical defense I've seen in years. I think Union wins by two scores
  2. If you truly care for young adults you do not trash them to there peers. That is not how to motivate. Look bro you have your opinion and I have mine. Phil does speak to people when he sees them out but fact is I and many others do not care for the man. Sorry if it ruffles your feathers but he's a prick. Only a prick would make a comment in a news paper like that. Only a prick would badmouth 18 year old young men to their peers. It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Again sorry it got ya all worked up
  3. Barry has more rings than Phil. Barry has more of the people in BSG respect. Phil is an offensive genius I will give him that. Phil did make sure we had the best equipment and facilities at PV but Phil was and is a prick. I played 3 years starting two of those three. I gave my heart and soul for Powell Valley football all for a coach that at the end of each season would trash the senior class to the underclassmen. I started all but three or four games and played in every game my junior and senior year. At the end of my sophomore year and junior year Phil met with the underclassmen for a talk. All he did was bash the seniors and tell us how we could step up more. I'm sure he did the same to the underclassmen after my last game. Proof is in that article, Phil is a prick.
  4. Phil Robbin's is and has always been a smart a$$. I have 0 respect for him as a coach and a man. His talent was proven when Barry Jones left Powell valley. The kids would run through a wall for Barry and most of not all tolerated Phil at best. Together they were one hell of a coaching staff but Phil's record without Barry (both prior to PV and after Barry left PV) shows it. Without Barry Phil lost one state title and never played for another at PV. Statements like he made there shows his true colors. He's a dick
  5. pass or rush, Union has a solid d. They may let some big pass plays get by them from time to time but they also snap their fair share ints as well. It is also hard to pass against them when the from 7 is in the backfeild more often than not. Plus this is highschool ball so I don't expect any team around here to have a d that is 100 percent shutdown on passing
  6. Back to the original topic of this thread. Richlands Vs Union. For a rivalry to exist both sides need victory. For a rivalry to grow both sides need close wins. For a rivalry to be defined both sides need to have suffered lose. Richlands Vs Union has become a rivalry that can be at the top of the list for any rivalry in swva. Union rolled every team this season except Richlands. We faced them two times and both times it was a hard fought win for Union. I give my utmost respect go every young man that strapped on a helmet for the blues this season. They came to our house with no fear in their heart and victory on their mind. They damn near grabbed the W. Be proud blues you all are an impressive and worthy opponent. Can't wait to meet y'all again next season on the gridiron.
  7. Bears roll! Marion is a solid team but Bullit Park is a harsh environment and the Bears will take care of business at home. That was proven last night when the very best 8 seed team you'll ever see came to Bullit Park. I don't think Marion has ever been there (as far back as I can remember late 80s early 90s) but if they have it has been decades. Be prepared for Union to win big this week!
  8. My first time posting on here. Just wanted to put in my thoughts for tonight. Richlands is by far one of the most solid programs southwest VA has ever had and will ever have. Year in and year out the Blues make football a way of life. Union has been a very solid program in it's short existence. We have been putting the pieces together to make a program our communities could be proud of and we are doing good at it. Tonight we will get to see what will be one of the best games played on an historic field. Bullit Park has hosted a many of good games and tonight will be no exception. I look for an old school, smack em in the mouth, pad popping, hard hitting, emotional game tonight. Ill call it like this, The blues come in fired up and ready to show that they are worthy of everyone's respect, but my bears will be the victor tonight by a score of 24 to 10 ( Most of the points coming in the late 3rd and fourth quarters). GOOOOOOOOOOOO U!
