Not sure you have ever watched him if you play he struggles getting his own shot. Thats most ridiculous thing I have heard. The kid averages like 25ppg on a team that has no one else average prolly 10ppg and struggles to get his own shot? Most the time he faces double and triple teams. Sounds like to me hes finding his shot and driving just fine.

Only game of the year. What happened to Tazwell when they played George Wythe, Lebanon, Abingdon and I could go on. Lost by at least 20 each game. I'm not saying Willis is a bad player, just my opinion Collins is better and does more for his team.
-
Yeah, oookay. Collins is on a bad team also. He at least keeps them in every game no matter who they play.
-
My thoughts
2A:
Ramsey-Abingdon
Worley-Va High
Garrett-Gate City
Collins-Central
Robinette-Ridgeview
with Osborne(Abingdon), McMurray(Gate City), Willis(Tazwell), Pendergraft and Hammonds(Lee High) right behind.
1A would be just a guess for me but Keene(Lebanon), Owens and Lane(Twin Springs) seem to be the ones you hear the most about.
-
Who is your top 5 players so far this year? Can be top 5 in Mountain 7, Cumberland, SWD, etc.
-
They haven't played Ridgeview, Abingdon or Gate City yet, the top in Mountain 7. I am thinking they wont get one of the three. Plus they play Lee again who went to double overtime, and Central who has played everyone to the wire. But they deserve credit yes, so far so good.
-
Chilhowie played well at the PVNB tourney at UVA Wise also.
-
I would say Union overall played well considering what they have. I think they caught Central at the right time or they wouldn't have gotten that W. The next time they play each other might be a little different. You could see on paper that Lebanon was going to hard to deal with and certainly are.
-
We are halfway through the Mountain 7 schedule this year. What and Who are the surprises so far?
-
There are head scratchers in every game for every team.
-
It went both ways, Central had 3 players foul out themselves. If you can get to the foul line more power to you. Its part of the game. It was a physical game. The Collins kid didn't do his damage from the free throw line as he missed most of his. He still had 32 points.
-
He did not! He got his 5th foul by setting an illegal screen. He was upset and went to bench where his frustrations got the most of him and he kicked a chair. Why go and say he shoved a player? Just trying to give him a worse reputation. In no way or means am I taking up for this conduct. He needs to control his emotions or don't be on the floor. Central was only down 3 and had momentum. After this Central lost all momentum. This game was a lot more closer than what the score indicates. This game could've went either way until the technicals. Central is better than most think. Oh and by the way, the technical came with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Close game
-
There wasn't enough room in the locker room for his back pack, so something had to give.
-
it would be nice just to have a regular schedule? have schools not released any yet?
-
No Union players or don't know? very odd, hope thats no a sign for my bears
-
Robinette is a baller, if he gets more consistent he will have a chance at POY. I agree the Ramsey kid from Abingdon if healthy probably gets it because of his size.
-
Good luck getting anyone to respond to anything basketball on here. Only a bunch of football fans this time of year. Either no one knows anything about basketball other than final scores or no one cares.
-
I think the Mountain 7 will end like this with players on that team to watch out for
1. Abingdon- Osborne and Honaker
2. Ridgeview-Robinette
3. Central-Collins/Gate City-McMurray, Garrett
4. Lee-Hammonds/Union-?
5. Battle-?
I dont know much about Union only that they lost a ton. Have no clue on Battle.
-
-
Have they posted it, where will it be posted? Someone has to know
-
Have they posted who made all region in 2D? I haven't seen it yet
-

Watching the Union/Central game on Nfhs the guy from Union that does the play by play said the Collins kid from Central and Bunch from Union were travel teammates right before they were tipping off against each other. Sounds like a SWVA All Star team.
-
I believe the Oquinn kid from RV is a freshman too. Ethan Collins from Central is a freshman and already a stud on the court.
-
I can see this:
1. Abingdon-loses Carter and Kilgore but Honaker, and Osborne will be tough with a few good players coming from JV
2. GC-Athletic team with a defensive mind
3. Ridgeview- looses a few potent contributors I think
4. Central- very young team, returns 3 freshmen that saw valuable minutes with good JV players coming up
5. Union- Looses a majority of minutes and experience, I think its a rebuild year
6. Battle-Athletic with solid JV bunch coming up
7. Lee-returns a scorer, have low numbers
1 through 3 really is a crap shoot. Either can compete with each other. 4 through 6 maybe a year or so away.
