The issues I mentioned with regards to other schools, had to do with us seemingly being singled out for "bad behavior". I posted the incidents that I was personally familiar with to show that while we might have some bad apples, a lot worse has happened elsewhere. I called it a Richlands fan site because it seems like most of the posters here have some connection to that school and outnumber the rest of us. In any event, we've moved on from that, so God only knows why you even brought it up, but whatever. You can stand on whatever you want, doesn't mean it's true, doesn't mean we're the school full of bad apple fans. While we might have our share of rowdy's, in my personal experience, Gate City's fans are far and away the most hostile and obnoxious and make our worst fans seem like choirboys. I think you are just anti-VHS and your bias is clouding your judgement and I will stand on that.

I agree, in fact, you could make a case this is a more challenging game than Gretna. I think we have an uphill battle, no doubt, and it might take an A+ kind of game, all the way around, for us to win. I'd sure like to have this game at home.

I'm ready to stop all this, drop every bit of it, and get back to the game, but certain people only seem interested in coming at us as individuals, rather than talking about what could happen on the field. That said, if a person is coming at me directly, I'm going to respond in kind, and not simply let it go. I leave it up to them.

I objected to Canes00 based on comments made by him, toward our team and fans, over the last few weeks, yes, I admit that. I also have a problem with people claiming it is "absurd" to pick us to win against Richlands. That's it, that is all the beef I have ever had.

I never claimed anyone on here from Richlands disrespected us, nor do I believe there is any bad blood between our fans and yours. I personally have nothing but respect for the Richlands program.

Time out. I don't care necessarily about someone picking us to lose, it is HOW you pick us to lose and the attitude you give us when you make those picks. None of us have ever done anything to you personally, so there is no reason to give us the attitude you do.

Not true. There is ONE PERSON, Canes00 who gets it from us and that is because of comments and predictions he's made about us in the past. I have zero problems with Marion or any of their other fans.

And yet when I played Basketball for VHS, we went up against Appalachia and had their students using the "N-word" at our black players, had Gate City fans throw rocks at our bus, and had the air let out of the tires there, but no, we're the ones full of "problems".

Who the hell on our side is begging everyone for respect? I keep hearing this "when will we get respect" phrase, but I've been in this thread since the beginning and I don't recall this need for respect showing up. Maybe I missed it, but I know I certainly am not begging for it, nor do I disrespect Richlands and the program they have.

Couldn't disagree more. The program has been down and when you are a #13 seed and go to Gretna, who was a huge favorite, and pull off the upset, people are bound to be excited. I don't think it's "chest thumping" I think it is optimism about the future, and liking where the team is at right now. As far as respect goes, I know I don't necessarily crave respect for the team/program, but I think we've done enough this year to at least earn a bit of it.

Maybe we will, maybe we won't, but considering we beat you head to head and advanced further than you did this year, you have a lot of nerve talking smack about us. BTW, still waiting for an answer to two questions I posed to you last night. 1) Why are you such an ass to VHS fans? 2) What have I personally ever done to you to deserve your attitude?

To a point, but success has much more to do with execution.

Eh, I don't put a lot of stock in that though. This isn't the NFL, tendencies are too varied, and there are too many changes.
