SWVA hasn't had a legit power hitter since Jack Compton. When they hit over 10 homeruns, they will be considered a power hitter, until then, look at the facts and face the area has no power.

True...Coach Peery has ways of getting the best out of the situation in Tazewell.. Tazewell isn't in a rebuilding year, but a re-loading stage. Graham will choke..just as they always have and will.

Timmy Brown by far was the best player richlands has had for a long time, Baseball wise. Timmy was what you call, a hard out. His skills will be missed more than you think they will.

Richlands surprised with their depth last year at JV. But as it seems once they reach Varsity they dont get any better over the years. Coach Peery is a specialist at getting children to reach their top playing level. Potential means nothing, performance is everything.

With the weak district that each team will have this year, it will come down to who puts the ball in play, and who makes the least errors.

With the exception of Abingdon and Graham on certain sports, SWVA is about 10 years behind the rest of the state of Virginia, sports wise. Being from SWVA is a hinderance for anyone wanting an athletic scholarship to a well established university.

Abingdon and Tunstall will represent Region IV in the state tournament next season.

If tazewell couldnt win state last year in baseball,it wont happen for them. Richlands will never get out of the region.
