JH Soccer Academy in Carroll has travel teams from U15 and down in the spring. THis is our fourth year of having one. We are growing each year.

lost two games to Abingdon and two to Marion and I believe we lost one to Richlands and the tie against Graham

Did Grundy beat Richlands and Tazewell boys or is that a prediction? Also what was the carroll/Abingdon score

This is funny because when I coached for Carroll, Graham did the same thing because of a class trip or some kind of class meeting or something. either one the AD and Coach should have planned a little bit better instead of canceling the day before. So Marion HS is not the only one to do this so do not jump on their case for something that your school does as well.

Since John Battle beat Galax tonight 2-0 in states I thought I should update the final top ten west of Radford. Also I listen a bit to region4fan.

Lance you are an idiot. But seriously at full speed this was a close play and do not forget that the guy is human. Most of you that are complaining have never been a umpire or a ref. so get off the couch and try to do it sometime.

the regular season does mean something for the playoffs in the NFL. if you have the best record then they get the 1st seed and home field for the playoffs. We are not saying that the playoffs in soccer are meaningless, we are saying that the reg. season record carries more weight. This really does not matter because until the SWD catches up with the rest of the region then it will not matter who is where.

Also High school playoff system is different format then the NFL. SO you are comparing apples to oranges and not apples to apples

they are both important. But regular season is harder to win then the district playoffs, so that is why the reg. season means more for the number 1 spot in regions. I help to change the way golf in the SWD was handled. When I started coaching golf it was all on the SWD tournament and reg. season had nothing to do with that day. That is stupid because you could be undefeated for the season and have one bad day and you did not go on. That is why we changed it to the format we have now. It is harder to stay on top of the SWD for the entire year then it is to get hot or get a lucky call during the tournament. So you can have your opinion on this matter but that does not mean that is the way it needs to be. The SWD in the next few years will be different then the last two because I believe the old SWD teams are starting to catch up to Abingdon and Marion. So with that said good luck to all SWD teams and good luck to the teams from Region 4 that make it to State.

no they will go to martinsville because they are playing the 2nd place team from the piedmont. Bassett will host HV.

I saw it coming, Abingdon has not dominated the district this year. really any of the top three teams could have won this tournament. Good Luck to all the SWD teams in the regions.

It is going to be at east river tomorrow at 6:30 or 7. It should be at CCHS but they have the field ready for graduation on Saturday and they are taking down the soccer goals. :(

well a win is a win. I believe Carroll should have beat them all three times but that is not what you make a top ten list from. Marion is a good program and they have had a lot of bad breaks but they might pull something out of this season. They will have a good seed going into the regional tourney. The winner of the Carroll/Graham game will get Blacksburg. :)
