  1. ansel has more receiving yards than WMUs "star" receiver...he started the game actually tail, he was thrown the third down of the first series but it was a short out route and the QB lead him too much.

Regardless AP is making his mark, and quick. The ESPN announcers on ESPN360 (where i watched the game till syracuse was over) said Ansel ponder is a freshman that show "a lot" of potential. nuff said.

  2. well said,

princeton has a good team, i doubt bluefield will face another wv opponent with their size, quickness or speed. T.a. From princeton is a heck of an rb to, i know bluefield won't face another rb of that caliber.

It's the small things that princeton doesn't do that seems to hold them back, at least with this team in this particular game anyhow..

Overall with their program it's their consistency from game to game, but i know they get worn down facing the bigger msac teams throughout the season. I'd really enjoy seeing 4 classifications in wv with aaa from around 650 through 1000 students, princeton would be a contender for certain.

    Anyhow congrats to the tigers.

As for bluefield, i have a concern or 2 about their o, for what it's worth, i know they're mixing things up a lot especially putting lilly and patterson at qb some, but in my opinion they should to run more actual plays with them when they do, instead of just hike it to them and have them run it.

The 2nd thought is they really would benefit considerably if they were to use reverses or end arounds off of those inside handoffs.

Overall they seem to get caught up on some series just attempting to power the ball forward without much of a play, which seems to get stacked up often, at least against a sizeable physical front such as princeton.

    Bootleg.

So that's 4 thoughts. Only my opinions.

They're playing really good football but there's always room to become better.

On d they played a really good game but that said i thought princeton just did a better job of outcoaching bluefield's d scheme at times with their play calling.

Congrats to princeton and bluefield, best to princeton throughout the season.

do the beavers rule this dog house?!?!

  3. Our coaching is awful. We make no adjustments, doesn't matter which kids you put in the scheme is what is getting beat. We have a playbook with maybe 12 plays in it. Coach Marrs needs to get rid of whoever is calling the plays and working with the secondary and linebackers. These players will get ripped by the coaches when they are doing what they are coached to do.

Also, why do we leave in our varsity in the 4th qtr when other teams have in their jv? There was no way in h### we were going to come back. Sad part is...Cave Spring's jv drove the ball on our jr's and sr's. They stopped our offense as well...at least let our younger kids get some playing time! They are the future of GHS football. They come to practice as well.

    Frustrating!!

Frustrating is the wrong word here.....more like castrating. which is what MARRS has done post-carlock era. nuff said.

  4. IMO, wayne is lucky. I dislike the fact that they refuse to play bluefield regular season. I don't believe that ANY team in WV has had the kind of schedule that bluefield has. It makes me a bit queezy when i see these top teams such as grafton losing to a young and (forgive my french) untalented, unathletic eagles from magnolia, however still manage to be at the top of the charts. I believe that schedules ought to be set in stone so a team doesn't have to literally get on it's knees just to play somebody.

This game is a tricky one, however. despite wayne's "good fortune" of having a james-monroe caliber schedule, they have a tendency to rise once a year to the call of a quality football team. Recently, that's been bluefield however they have been snubbed each meeting and that sign that reads "overrated" on their forehead shines ever so brighter. So here's the game that they're getting up for, while bluefield's been getting up all year long. I personally don't believe they deserve to play bluefield, to have a chance to advance. But regardless of what my biased mind thinks, they get to. And because this will be the first realy challenge this year, they're going to show up for once.

This one goes to the beavers. Might get messy, might be scary, but this one goes to bluefield.
