  1. Sounds like a good news, bad news thing. The bad news is that the coach is playing for the future 5 weeks into the season. The good news is that the coach is planning on having a future.
  2. Richlands will name whatever score they want in this one. Patrick Co. will provide zero resistance.
  3. Cave is not as balanced this year. In this game they leaned much more towards running the ball. They ran the ball 35 times and only attempted 14 passes eventhough they were well behind. The good news for Cave is that Sam Wright is a beast and they are quick at most positions especially on the line. I also liked the no-huddle tempo. The bad news is that they appeared to have very little depth which forced them to use alot of players both ways and they did not look very comfortable trying to throw the ball. I think Cave will surpise alot of teams in the River Ridge except maybe CBurg. The season will boil down to the obvious match-up with Richlands. Sam Wright vs Devon Johnson....could be a good one. Good luck to Cave Spring the rest of the year. Who know maybe they will get another shot at Northside before the year is over.
  4. You are correct. The pants are the TCU Nike Pro Combat design that was customized with Viking colors and emblems. Cave Spring requested a last minute uniform change in order to wear white/white to support a cancer stricken student. NS wanted to support the white theme by wearing white pants but obviously couldn't wear the same color jersey as Cave. Great pics againTJ
  5. Richlands shouldn't have much trouble with Pulaski. I would think Richlands should win by 2 scores easily with or without Devon . The Northside vs Pulaski outcome was affected by several odd circumstances and should not have any more bearing on this game than the close call Richlands had with Union.
  6. The Roanoke teams have zero incentive to play Richlands or any other school that far away from the Roanoke area. Roanoke teams only have 4 or 5 non district games to schedule. With 2 dozen AA schools to choose from it is easy to fill your schedule with the level of competition you want that also brings a good crowd that buys your tickets. Pulaski is about as far from home as most ADs will want to work with and that is only because they typically travel very well. Richlands suffers isolation from the better teams because other teams just simply can't justify traveling that far.
  7. Cave Spring is putting out the word that they are providing shuttle buses from the High School. If people use them it will help. There is not nearly enough parking at Bogle for the crowd that will be at this game.
  8. Great pics as always TJ. I'll try to bump into you at the Northside game.
  9. I'm not sure I'm buying into Pulaski just yet. Northside spent at least 6 hours on the bus in holiday and Tech traffic Friday and Saturday before finally playing the game in 90 degree + on Saturday.
  10. Looks like alot of guys playing on both sides of the ball. I have Salem with losses to CBurg and Northside. Toss up games with Franklin Co., Cave Spring and maybe Pulaski. Salem seems destined for another playoff re-match with Magna Vista. If Salem has 2 losses they may host that game but I would say that if they lose 3 they will be on the road. Good luck to the Spartans this year.
  11. I thought CS looked fast against Floyd last week but I didn't know how that would relate vs better competition. If CS was able to run with Brookville that's a good sign. Great pics in the other thread by the way.
  12. I went to the Amherst-LCA game. I am a Northside fan and wanted to see Amherst before next weeks game. I still follow CS fairly closely as my #2 team. You say they looked good against BVille? That's good news. Did Cave look good on both side of the ball?
  13. I'll try to follow your blog. I am not a huge CS fan but I live in the CS area and my kids go to school there so I hear plenty about CS football. With the losses of Woodrum, Cole and Anderson I would have guessed that CS was headed for a .500 season at best. But after seeing how good Kingery looked and seeing Sam Wright run at the scrimmage I am convinced that CS may be able to beat Salem and Pulaski this year. I think they will have a tough time with CBurg and Northside which will probably force them to travel come playoff time but all in all they are still contenders in R4 IMO.
  14. Alot can happen between now and then but I would go with Northside over BVille
