  1. I heard a sad rumor that a Lebanon player suffered a severe injury tonight and had to be medflighted out. Any truth to this or does anyone know anything? Prayers for the kid, his family teammates and coaches if this is true. Sure hope it's not.

The announcers said med-flight was coming but something changed and they took him out in an ambulance. That was one quiet stadium for about ten or fifteen minutes, I sure hope and pray he's okay.

  2. You give that job to Dan Strong. lol. Go ahead.

I dare you. Your program will go where Battle's came from.

We had to take over for him in little kids 7 on 7 tourny at the Witten camp a few years ago.....because he doesnt know what he's doing and every word out of his mouth is a 4 letter word. Even with little kids. He'd make you a good one

Dan Strong couldn't coach midget league.

  3. Not really. I'm more or less picking on Coach Strong (he was my football coach when he was the head coach at Battle). We had a lot of fun at his expense.

Oh, and it's a bit late (still haven't taken in all the scores) but congrats to Abingdon on their win! Proved me wrong (I picked CC on the pickems on the CMD board). Go out there and win (we need the points)!

We've had some fun at his expense too.

  4. Its not going to, both teams are bad and under coached. Abingdon has better talent but their coach doesn't utilize it correctly. The news in Emory is PH struggles with the same issue along with low numbers (33 from what I hear). I think the real news from this game will not be the score but how many bone head calls each coach will make. I think the better game to watch would be Twin Springs at Holston, both teams are evenly matched and it has rivalry written all on it.

I can't speak for PH, but you hit the nail on the head about Coach Bowles. I would love to know what he's thinking sometimes.

  5. The fact that he scored 40 points was impressive, but what impressed me more than that was his ability to rebound and the way he hustled. He was as fresh at the end of the game as he was at the beginning, he wore us out.

  6. Ok, im opening the door for Falconman and Southbound to preach to me the greatness of Abingdon and the inferiority of Haysi but why exactly would a high school student get a second degree?

Also do Sp Ed kids no count toward a schools enrollment?

The special ed students get their degree, then they can stay another year to work on a regular diploma.

  7. Abingdon's enrollment right now is 896, but close to 75 of those kids are special ed. and there are also between 15 and 20 still there for a second diploma(13th year students). These kids are bussed in from all the county high schools, plus a few from saltville. So our actual numbers are more in line with Richlands, Tazwell and Marion. Hopefully they would allow us to play around here instead of traveling several hours for a district game. Traveling for football wouldn't be that bad, but the sports that play games during the week would really get the short end of the stick.

  8. All Abingdon coaches volleyball, football, softball, girls bb, boys bb,the only good coach is the baseball coach for some reason they don't care if they have quality coaches.o yeah I almost forgot they have a great band coach.

We've got a pretty good boys basketball coach, girls softball coach and boys baseball coach. I think our new girls basketball coach will straighten some of the laziness out, but if we don't start from scratch with football program, it's going to be more of the same.
