  1. this was one bad game for the rebels, those grundy boys were in great shape.i think they have several state wrestlers on that team and it showed. those guys never let up. they just kept coming all night long. they wore those big linemen of hurley down. they were gasping for air the whole night, the 43 kid didnt get stopped all night ,he is one tough kid. if those hurley boys are going to win any more games ,they better get themselves in some shape. if tester cant do any better than that then its time to turn it over to someone else. there is too much talent on that team to let your boys take a loss like that. they need more conditioning and it showed, and they play calling sucked too.

I think you better think back before Tester arrived over there.Hurley was never mentioned anywhere.Look back on TEster record and everybody elses within the last 10 years.I see them play once a year and always see improvement year to year.If he had a bad night callin plays, then he had a bad night, happens to coaches as well as players.Small steps the man is gettin the rebs there.Give him time hes a good coach.

  2. Im always tickled for the Hokies winning the Acc.

But id like to see them do more

Beamer is 67 time is running out.Hes a great coach, but is too loyal to his coaches.my opinon they need too bring in an Nfl Offence Coordinator to run the offence.Last year orange bowl they were out coached, out played.Didnt have a second halve game plan.Cannot beat a top ten team.

SAd but true.I know Stinespring is no longer callin plays but he is still the oc.

  3. Apparently you've never seen Interstate 81 much less a city. We don't talk like that over here. You see I'm in college, and our professors frown upon the usage of words like yonder or yall. So, that causes me to frown:( upon those who choose to use non-words. No wonder important leaders refer to this part of the state as being "backwoods!" Damn!:eek:

Its too bad them professors dont teach you guys in Abingdon how to read x's and 0's you might win a few more football games.

  4. Battle stands a much better chance of beating Lebanon than Honaker

I agree Honakers looking pretty goood.sure they havent forgotten about the mistake that got them beat on battle hill last year.Always been one of my favorite places to travel too.lot of good friendly folks down there and always a good game.

  5. No from the looks of it now it was ignorant to believe that the Waves had a chance to win this one. 33-14 Anyone want to comment on how badly they believe them Waves will beat Hurley next week. Or has the Waves calmed and the tide has went out. Get your surfboards ready Rebels we're heading to Wave country next Friday!!!! lol

This guy must be a disgruntled Dallas Cowboy fan.or hes just plain hatefull

  6. I think the fact that Lebanon hasnt won state puts them a step behind the other programs I listed, but still they are right there.

All time Graham is at the head of that conversation, if were talking about the last 5 or so years leave Graham and Appy off.

I dont want to be accused of being a homer but imo if Lebanon is a step behind Richlands, GC, GW, JI Burton, Appy and Clintwood then Haysi and Honaker are right behind Lebanon. In general, year in and year out Haysi and Honaker are better than most of the schools not listed above.

Granted the last 4 years have been hard for Haysi but if you look at the win percentage from 90-05 its pretty good.

Im a fan of a 6A setup w/ 6 equal groups. I will miss the regions, it meant something to be Region D Champs

03 Honaker was a good team but wouldnt have won region(GC was loaded that season, they were on a different level). 04 Haysi was pretty good and may have stood a chance at winning region

Honaker had some good games against Gate City

    02 Gate City 21 to 6

04 Gate City scored with 6 or so seconds on the clock to beat them

Honakers Tyler Patrick liked about 6 inches of pickin up the first to be able to run the clock out.

Cant help but wonder if there was todays playoff format how things could have gone for both tiger teams

Haysis 05 team almost got to state, sure took it to Honaker in the playoffs

  7. hahaha honaker has the schedule advantage on grundy with grundy coming off the battle of the wave, but really this isn't baseball the boys of slatecreek arnt to be taken lightly

Honaker dont take noone lightly.just dont be runnin that mouth before

the first game is played. And as for our STATE CHAMPION BASEBALL TEAM

Tigers whipped the wavemen as i recall

  8. i dont know anything about haysi, but grundy is tough, they want to hit somebody, when the line has little experience and get in mid season form theyll take it to honaker. if that turfs gonna help anybody it ll be Oliver

Id say the turf at Honaker will help Oliver and the rest of the wavemen.

That is to help dry up there tears when they hit the ground after the game.

If yall think your going to come into the Bdd and start pushin both tiger teams around i tell you now you find out how good them wv/kt teams actualy are.

  9. Haysi's big question mark will be the O-line, 4 new starters. I dont know if this makes sense but this years group may be a better unit even though thay may not be as talented per player, cohesion and teamwork will be better than last year and as we all know that may be the most important thing on the Oline.

Haysi will lack a deep threat(unless one emerges) but will start 2 WRs that will catch everything thrown at them. TE is more of a blocker than a reciever but the kid plays with a ton of heart and goes wide open all the time, hes also tough as nails.

The running game will come along; Blair and Blankenship will carry the majority of the load and several RBs will add to that.

Overall Haysi may not be as bad as some think, I have faith in my Tigers.

something ive learned over the years you never count out colleys tigers

    learnt my lesson in 03

Honaker had a team as good as HEath Millers senior year, thought they would go far in playoffs.Lost to haysi on last play of game.lost district went 9-1

    Didnt make playoffs.

  10. basset would be a quality team for the blues in the regular season.starters might actualy get to play a whole game.Good thing they have alot of playoff games the starters wouldnt get to play but have a season. Its along drive to basset but there going out there every other year anyway.at least it would count
