Getting your lunch eaten by the equivalent of a FCS school (Texas State's first year in FBS, predicted to go winless) should've resulted in the "resignation" of more than that. On a tangent, how about the almighty Conference USA going 2-10 in Week 1, with (1) an FCS loss, (2) a loss over a brand spanking new FBS program. and (3) one of the 2 wins by a team that's on a postseason ban? Many pundits were picking it to be on the verge of legitimacy with Houston's and Southern Miss's successes last year, and with UCF returning a fair bit of talent this season. I can just imagine if the ACC put up a stinker of a week like that. I remember some of the offseason banter between talking heads on ESPN and others being "has conference USA surpassed the Big East".
