  1. The announcers on the radio broadcast from Saturday said that pass to an extremely wide open Jacob Edwards looked like a punt lol A DB in a wheelchair could have gotten back in time to defend that one. Every play can change a ball game. I believe the last Giles State title game was won on a pass was it not? It's a shame the catcher of that pass is coaching at a rival school
  2. Our line not being very good is the exact reason why we should switch the backs like we did against Blacksburg. #23 will give you 3-4 yards between the tackles and #5 will might give you 1-2. #5 can hit a home run if he gets in space which isn't very likely playing solely at TB. Take the Narrows game for example....
  3. #5 tip toes into the hole, can't run between the tackles and has a terrible arm. He's great in open space but is not a tailback. Switching him and #23 around gives him opportunities to get into open space which he is hands down the most dangerous ball carrier on the team. If you wanted to get better as team and be a more productive offense you need to address the elephant in the room and maybe put Baylor at the other backfield position that hasn't changed and prevents us from gaining yards play after play after play
  4. That was BandanaBabyVTDavis prediction not yours and I agree with the musical chairs. I would almost go back with the backfield from week one that scored the most points than in any game since? Scored 35 then change things every single week since? Yep ... solid coaching decisions once again
  5. For starters look back at what exactly started this argument. I said maybe the Giles coaches should worry less about what VT is doing and fix their football team. Not once have I trashed any of the coaches. I've just pointed out the fact that other schools have surpassed Giles as a football school. These schools that become successful and stay successful do it year round. Games aren't won on Friday nights most of the time, they are won between December and August. Giles is failing in almost all aspects in that regard. Anyone can armchair coach a game but that doesn't hold a lot of weight. Yes, there are (in my opinion) coaches there that would bring Giles back to the Giles of old that stand on the sidelines currently. I suspect the "talent level" of players would suddenly increase if a young and hungry Ricky Cook or a Conney Ratcliff took over the program. The players are there. The guy I quoted said last year we would compete for a region title because of those 6-7 sophomores returning however.........
  6. So what happened to this bold prediction?? All those kids came back and Giles got worse? 🤔 Almost makes you wonder if the off season strength and conditioning isn't on par with other schools? Or the coach is burned out? Or something besides your completely incoherent comments that we don't have talent? Weird right?
  7. I'm going to quote your post from a year ago to show your own ignorance and how you have pretty much proved my current point. "We got 6 sophomores playing on both sides of the ball this year and sometimes 7. We are going to be better for sure. Again, I told you this awhile back, the weight room is where the most improvement can come. Sophomores are not fully physically mature yet. They usually have much more physical growth from the start of their sophomore years and on through summer by the time they are juniors. I said at the beginning of the year We will play for the region and lose to Galax closer than than game one was. I think us and Galax have a nail biter to decide the region title next year" end quote...boy did that age well lol So fast forward a few months and now you say we are low on talent etc?? Your a freaking clown dude!
  8. You completely misread or misinterpreted what the "Cliff" comment was referring too. He referred to him as Cliff Clavin in a previous post and if you aren't aware who that is you should look it up. It was clearly meant to be a joke
  9. Is it not possible that a coach nearing retirement could be burned out? Not adapting to the game? Not putting forth the 365 days a year effort as he did when he was younger and more hungry? To think that's not possible makes you ...not smart.
  10. Lol absolutely not. Bandanavtdavis mentioned it as part of his excuses a few posts above and I was just making fun of it is all. Like literally every kid at every school has social media and a phone but apparently it only affects Giles according to him
  11. It's great that you mentioned the size of the players at Galax especially. Why don't you also look at their off-season strength and conditioning program and compare it to Giles.... You could start with that one aspect and figure out why "Giles talent has dropped." Other schools have surpassed Giles in probably the most important aspect.. Off season strength and conditioning and it shows itself every Fri night. Go to the wellness center and look at how many Giles players have to carry a membership because they aren't getting it from the program. I hope the kids from Riverheads and other schools don't find out about these cells phones or social media of football will just be doomed hahahaha
  12. I guess stats and facts aren't your thing either....
  13. This has to be dumbest most incoherent comment I've ever read on this site. Didn't seem like this talent up talent down etc theory of yours was happening under Ragsdale? That man had 2 losing seasons from 1978-2007! During his tenure, Giles had only 3 years with negative point deferential. Giles has been in the negative point deferential for 5 years in a row currently with more losing seasons since 2018 than Ragsdale had in 39 seasons. These facts doesn't support your incoherent comment in any way. Giles also returned almost their entire team from last year and got worse!!! It's almost like everyone else is getting better during the off-season except Giles and it shows.
  14. Yeah because a record of 20-24 since 2018 is a great look? 4 losing seasons in the past 5 years is a great look? Winning 1 playoff game since 2018 against a team that wouldn't have even been eligible without the expanded playoff is a great look? Why are you "oh good lording" a legitimate comment?
  15. Maybe instead of worrying about what VT is doing the Giles staff should maybe focus on why a once dominant program has turned to complete mediocrity? Just a thought
  16. Whether they "wanted to be there" or not, the decision should have been to make it a one possession game and give yourself a chance. A field goal attempt would have at least kept Giles in the game as opposed to trying to convert an unmanageable 4th and long.
  17. I'm fairly certain you said on another thread that I was a proven narrows fan and I was also accused of "peacocking" and wearing my old #23 jersey and eating nachos at a narrows game?? Wow did that all that age well hahahaha I'll see ya tomorrow night ole bud just like I did last night and both the j.v. and the little league greatly appreciates you and your dad doing what you'll done this week 👍
  18. If I even show????? I'm pretty sure I'll be on the Wolf Creek side of the field blasting my cowbell. I seen the predictions from last year's thread and a lot of you'll ain't got a future at ESPN that's for sure LMAO 🤣
  19. Greatest thing ever was just watching Narrows do pregame while a train horn was pumping through the loudspeaker at the field. LMAO 🤣 I guess they are that intimidated by or our just the players used to hearing it because it's gonna happen often Fri night
  20. I have wondering for a week who the #3 was???? I get Pruett and Crigger but after that I'm not seeing a whole lot....
  21. You were talking about years ago, I was talking about players who CURRENTLY play. Big difference there guy
  22. Giles didn't have too much trouble shutting those two down last year with the same secondary that we'll see on Fri
