  1. Hell of a game and one hell of a season for the Beavers. Hope they hold their heads high on the trip home because that was one hell of a ballgame. Easily the best HS game I've caught this year. Yeah, obviously I caught it on the radio but I was lucky enough to catch it all without missing a play on the radio here in Peterstown. (Which shocked the hell out of my anyways) Congrats on the great season.

  2. Roanoke Times write-up:

John Butler had 10 points and Brandon Martin had seven points and six assists for the Green Wave, which hit 58 percent of its shots (32-for-55) from the field.

Brock Jones led Craig County with 18 points.

The MED looks more wide open this year than ever in recent memory. But Narrows is lucky to be returning all but 1 starter from last years team and should be the front runner for the MED title this year. Looking forward to those Giles and James Monroe games though. Those are always fun just for the atmosphere.

  4. I don't know about the Wheeling feeling. I witnessed my first real game at Mitchell last week (Grundy and Graham) and was impressed with the changes. The last time I was there was the '94 Grid-o-rama and a lot of upgrading and facelifts has been made since then obviously. The field was in great shape also. It seemed to me that it has restroom and seating capacity needed for a state final game(s). The only problem I could forsee would be maybe parking. Why not get the Final 6 in Bluefield?

  5. Well, I'm obviously a Region C guy but here goes nothing:

Graham 44, Martinsville 10: Lack of offense keeps Martinsville out.

Grundy 27, Fieldale-Collinsville 13: For some reason I like Grundy's D to step in this one.

Magna Vista 20, Richlands 16: Magna Vista has plenty of playoff experience when it comes to playing at home.

Carroll Co. 31, Abingdon 17: Jordan Johnson will get his yards but so will both of Carroll's backs.
