I wasn't talking about the past kids that made it. I'm talking about the kids this year. There doesn't seem to be any standout D-1 players this year. That's what I was saying. I'm a die hard Graham fan so of course I know what AB is doing up in Huntington, and H. Miller etc...

Let's be honest. The athletes around here are "good" athletes. There isn't one that can play on the D-1 level. There are some that can make the team as a wlk-on or something like that and maybe in a year or two earn a scholarship with hard work. people need to realize how hard it is to play on that level. Kids need to realize that D-2 or D-1AA are there also for scholarships. D-3 does not offer scholarships and that is where most would excell. Concord is a good place for these students to go and "PLAY". They can get scholarships and get a degree which is the main thing.

They won't be as small as some may think. They have the Bovenizer kid who is huge. Robert Henry will help with rebounding also workman who can play the 3 or 4 because of his shooting. He is 6'4 or 6'5 also. They will also get Hoosier from the J.V. team who is a shooter. They definately won't be as strong as they have been but they have a chance at winning the district becasue of their experieced guards with Remines who is a olid point guard, matthews who is a slasher to the basket and Alvis shoud be strong at the 3 spot this year.

Think about this for a second. Since Richlands will win the SWD and the way it looks now Graham, Grundy , and Tazewell will make the playoffs as well as VA. High being the #1 seed because they will win their district. It looks like the winner of the Graham and Tazewell game will play Grundy in the first round and the loser gets VA High. Graham killed them and Tazewell got by last week. As it looks the loser of Graham and Tazewell willbe in the Region Championship. Ponder onthat for a minute.

When these kids transfer to Graham it's definately not because they're not good enough to play at Bluefield. Graham has had a few players come down because some of those players want to play with their family members and maybe because of other family issues. Greg Ridley and Billy Banks started at Beaver the year before they went to Graham. Brandon Banks went to Graham in middle school as did Paco, H.T. and Kevin. There have been a few more that have went to Graham, buthave you ever thought about their parents wanting them to get the disipline from Coach Carlock, R. Marrs, D. Marrs, Jones, Williams, O'neal etc... that they definately would not have gotten at Bluefield. you all should think about other situations besides just playing time.

How can you guys leave out Jessie Davis from your Tazewell team. As far as GHS there have been 3 players in the last 3 years that could make any team 1) Paco Jones 2) Ahmad Bradshaw and 3) Nathan Belcher who was probably the best basketball PLAYER in the area the last 2 years. Also for GHS you had Latimer, Travis Law, Randy (Moon) Moore, and J. Gray, who buy the way used to torch Kon Patterson on a regular basis.
