In West Virginia you cannot play if your 19 unless your birthday is prior to either August or September 1. I know this because of a kid that was going to play last year who was 19 and was deemed too old. I am not even from Mercer County, but NO ONE can play at 20.

In the last three years we have added James Monroe, Scott, and Oak Hill. I'd say that is attempting to build a better schedule. Notice I didn't say a tough schedule, but a more respectable schedlue at least. We have to play Shady and Indy, they are county rivals. Don't make much since to drop anyone on the current schedule due to proximity. With this schedule at least 5 of the 10 teams should be good tests year in and year out. Maybe more. Granted, our schedule isn't where Bluefield's is, but neither is the level of our talent and program, but we are trying. Westside-usually a good team every year Summers County-Be a much improved team, Junior dominated Pikeview-Seem to be getting better every year Oak Hill-dropped Tug Valley for OH. They are returning a lot and are major upgrade to the schedule as compared to Tug. Sherman-Very young last year, always plays Liberty tough. Will be pretty darn good this year. James Monroe-Returns a bunch from a very good team. A team we respect a great deal. Independence-County rival. May lose a little from last years talent level, but county rivals always play you tougher. Scott-There has to be a little missing from this year's Senior group, but still should be a very good team. Shady-County rival, whose youngsters will make a vast improvement over last year's team. Wyoming East-Always plays Liberty tough. Developed into a small rivalry. Seems the two don't care that much for4 one another.

WE didn't lose because of two INT's. We lost because the offensive coach couldn't call a play at the goalline to score. Do not blame your QB. Blame your offensive coordinator. Liberty moved the ball at will the second half, the coach laid an egg. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Given that I was actually there, Mt. View scored 3 TD's on Varsity and 3 on JV. Liberty was scoreless. TD's are 6 points. 6 does not go into 45 evenly. No field goals were attempted, so whomever told you the the results was either not there or needs remedial math class. But Mt. View dominated in every capacity. They are a legit top 8 playoff contender.

They lost 4 of the 5. The one they have returning is a legit AA lineman in Nick Blankenship. Also have their 6th lineman from last year with a lot of experience, but the rest is inexperienced. Newman, like the rest of the team will not quit.

Renegade I am afraid you are wrong. It has no name as of yet. It soon may have a name though. What name did you bet on?

Newman was a media darling. He is less than a mediocre running back. Heard we may be playing Shady....any word on that?

Shady fan, I am no mathematician, but if you take his carries and divide it by games played, Newman does not have 25 carries per game. This is where word of mouth blows out of porportion. Newman is tough and as good as advertised, but he doesn't get that many touches per game.

Not sure what the censored list meant, but isn't it funny that Raider8 had never been on here before Tide73? Seems to me like it is someone from another school setting up Liberty-Raleigh.

You might have posted this already, but what is Woodrow Wilson or also known as Beckley High Schools all time record. They haven't been as good in the last 20 years, but before that they were in the upper group in winning percentage.

Speaking on behalf of Liberty football team, we respect and expect a great deal from Sherman this season. The nonsense that Corner140 was saying is coming from a player that is not in the weightroom with us. Not saying that we are scared, because no football team should ever be scared, but we respect Sherman (who has owned us in recent years) and Shady (who will be a top 3 team this year) and Westside ( who beat us twice last year). So again please ignore any misinformed statements about Liberty that may pop up here.
