Never too early to start talking about football even though I love summer and hate cold weather. For right now In West Virginia AA I can see Bridgeport, Wayne, and Bluefield being your favorites again and I know they'll be those few other teams that will make some noise. Just not sure who. In SWVA, I can see Richlands being the team to beat once again in their district. Don't know much about what Graham and the MED has coming back.
O-line and defense will once again be the key for Bluefield this season regardless. Just won't know until the season starts what they have to offer in that department, which could be another reason why it has been so quiet around here.
A few months ago I had an anonymous caller call asking for me and then saying he was someone affiliated with the United States government. He claimed that I was eligible for a government grant. He then asked for my bank information so the money would go directly into my account. I immediately hung up. How stupid did this guy think I was? 1. Since when does the U.S government give me money and 2. Never give your bank information over the phone especially if they won't reveal their name.
Other than a state line separating us we are one in the same town. I have alot of family and friends in both. I grew up in Bluefield WV and graduated from Bluefield High School. However for the past 13 years I have lived in Bluefield, VA and my children go to Graham. I root for Graham in every game except one because I am still a very loyal die hard beaver fan and my passion for beaver football right now is as strong as it has ever been. In fact there is not a Bluefield game since 1991 that I have not either went to or listened to on the radio. Not one. I hope to keep that streak alive for a long time to come. Thanks to a state line we truly do have a unique situation here and one that I am very proud to be a part of and wouldn't change for anything. Go both Bluefields!
Agreed! In most seasons anything short of a state championship seems to be a disappointment in Bluefield but considering how last season went it has been a great season for the beavers. Going from missing the playoffs last season to the quarterfinals this season makes me feel pretty optimistic for next season. Congrats to the beavers and also congrats to the G-men on a successful season as well. I believe next season will be even better for both teams!
I don't know a whole lot about RCB other than the fact that Bluefield has played them a few times in previous years and they had pretty decent teams. I also know that they've put up some big points against some teams this year and I heard that they do have some decent speed. I expect a competitive game this Friday night up in Clarksburg.
I've seen one model that is saying nothing for us to around 8 inches in northeastern WV and another one that is saying about 1-2 inches for us to 20+ inches in northeastern WV. Where is this so called euro model found that keeps forecasting us to get dumped on?
Two schools with proud traditions! Gate City is a bit down this year but have improved since the first game of the season. The beavers have been putting up the points on opponents as of late. With all that considered and with the game been at Mitchell this year I'd have to give the beavers the edge. On paper that is.
