As a native of the state of KY and a long-time follower of Kentucky basketball, I know UK fans could give a rip about Huggins, his style of play or anything else. WVU is not on their radar, nor do they think any program compares.
They do give grudging respect to UNC, and Duke. All the rest only matter at tournament time.
Yeah we didn't earn any respect when we knocked Kentucky out of the Elite 8 did we?
WVU basketball is not even in the same category with Kentucky when it comes to program tradition but i'm damn sure Kentucky would be happy to welcome WVU to the SEC.
Last week I strongly opposed WVU joining the SEC. After seeing Pitt and Cuse jump horse for the ACC, we must find a exit strategy. Competition wise it would be a much tougher schedule for the mountaineers but in the long run maybe it has potential to increase tradition, recruiting, and etc.
Many American's need a serious change in their diet. I was overweight for about 3 years, and I know how hard it can be trying to diet with work, school, family, cravings, and etc... Staying active and working out does help, alot. However, it all starts and ends with your diet.
If the government wants a healthier country then they need to do something with the food costs. Healthy food is so darn expensive!!!
Really wasn't what he said. He said Tech and WVU both wouldn't end up in the SEC. But IMO WVU has no chance of being in the ACC just looking at academics alone. You think Duke and UNC fussed about Tech. You haven't seen anything yet if WVU is up for a vote.
Yeah, I suppose not. I didn't read closely enough. Trying to do to many things at one time over here lol
Do we know what the bump up in revenue for WVU would be if they joined the SEC?
Not quite sure. I tried finding some information but the only thing I could find is that each SEC team is expected to receive $17 million this year from the TV contract of ESPN/CBS. That information however may not be accurate.
None the less they would most likely double total revenue.
From my perspective I think it would be a horrible move for us to make. The competition is far beyond what we are used to and we just don't have the recruiting power to compete year in and year out with the SEC. Yes, it's possible that both of those issues could change, however the risk greatly outweighs the benefits.
Oliver Luck is doing great things with WVU athletics and i'm very excited about our future. I just think this would be a step in the wrong direction. Hopefully if offered, he can look away from the $$$ and think about other possibilities.
I don't think Bluefield gets in this year. Still have Gate City, two Charlotte teams, James Monroe, Wayne, and Greenbrier East next week will have a huge line for Bluefield to contend with once again.
You may very well be right. We could easily be 1-5 going into our 2 bye weeks. The last 3 games I dont see much of a problem. 4-5 no playoffs. We find a way to beat Greenbrier east or Gate city we will slip in with 5-4.
2 of the 3 losses for Charlotte Latin came from Charlotte Country Day last year. Both defeats they were outscored a combined 92-34. I think we have a much better outlook against Charlotte Latin rather than CCD. Even if the outcome ends with an L
Cancelling the fantasy football leauge. I figured since we all love sports and enjoy football that we would have plenty of people to play. Obviously I was wrong..........................
