Does anyone know if Abingdon and Richlands are still playing tomorrow? How is the field at the College? I'm gonna get off work early tomorrow if they play...but I dont wanna ask the boss off if there's no way they'll get the game in. Thanks in advance

Upper 80's for Belcher? He might be able to throw a pitch 85 or 86 every once in a while...but upper 80's might be a stretch. But, who cares about velocity. If Belcher was throwing in the upper 70's he'd still get hitters out. Plus, there's no way that the Grimm kid can consistently throw it 86 mph.....maybe he will down the road, but not now. But, dont get me wrong, im sure he will be a really good pitcher. my point is that velocity is not that important.

my Falcons lost 5 starters--two outfielders that were average players--and three infielders that were pretty good. They do have all of their pitching back--but their are some question marks. they should be one of the better teams in the area

Who's the best team? Well, I don't think you can overlook my Falcons--We return our entire pitching staff and last year they were pretty dominating. We lost only once all season(an extra inning playoff game against Tazewell where the Herald kid had a dominating performance) I don't think anyone would argue that we had a better team than Tazewell..but they beat us when it counted. We won the Big-Six Tournament, the Highlands District Championship and swept our regular season games with traditional powers Tennessee High,Grayson County, Richlands, and John Battle as well as defeated the Bearcarts 3 times. I sometimes think that Coach McCall deserves alot more credit than he gets here in A-town!! As far as the question about Va High--They might be a bit younger than usual, but they will still have a very strong team. I would think it will once again be a two horse race in the Highlands and a two horse race in the SWD with AHS, VA High, Richlands, and Tazewell being the teams to beat. Can't wait 'til March!!
