Two things you need to be corrected on, Marcum had a great game against Graham last year no doubt, BUT it's not hard to when you are running thru holes that you could drive a truck thru. Your line kicked our butts, not Marcum. Secondly the 90 yard TD Marcum scored against Graham in the 2002 Region IV final was an interception return, not a run.Actually he has never had a great game against us, except for last year.
Did Crigger have more than HT Matthews? And the player from Abingdon who held the record was none other than former graham assistant coach Sam McKinney with 17, and that would have been prior to 1977.
He is the best QB the SWD has saw in 15-20 years after only starting two games? Wow, if he is that good already I want to see him after he starts 3 games! Seriously, he would have a long way to go to even be as good as Timmy Brown, who was a very good quarterback. But the best in 15-20 years after two starts.....lol........
And no one in their right mind ever thought Graham would lose that state title game in 2001 either the way they had been playing, but that is why they play the games.
Bedford sure "chewed" us up and spit us out last time we played didn't they? Who knows what will happen, we are two games into this season. Even having this discussion at this point is absurd. I remember a Bluefield team in 02 that was not very impressive that made it to a state final. Teams do improve as the season goes on.
Not even close. Sugar Ray was good, but he was a power back with speed. He didn't have the moves or vision of Ahmad. I watched them both every game they played and that is my honest assesment. I do think Sugar was faster though. If Sug would have had his head screwed on right he might be playing on Sundays right now, but that was not the case.
Another Graham loss? Please keep thinking that way. I beg you to think that way all year long, especially you Richlands guys. Heck do you want us to present you the swd trophy now? I mean you guys have already won it haven't you?
Great game by two good teams. I hope that Bluefield's QB is ok, he is a fine ballplayer. What heart from Graham though, to overcome 5 turnovers and comeback and win makes me so proud. Coach Marrs made me a believer tonight. Let's do it again next month.
You don't replace 20 starters easily the first time out, and Graham will be sky high. Plus I think the teams Graham scrimmaged are better than the ones Bluefield played. But everyone is entitled to an opinion. Best of luck to all.
It's because he doesn't think it's "fair" for the TCSB to give Graham 34,000 a year to play football that everyone else in the county doesn't get. What the moron fails to realize is this, how much does it cost to turn on the lights at each stadium every friday night? A bundle I am sure. How much does it cost to maintain? How much does each stadium cost to clean up after each game? By the time it is all said and done the amounts are probably cheaper at Mitchell Stadium. Mr. Steele, you picked the wrong people to pick a fight with my friend. And just remember you started this fight, and we are going to finish it.
Apparantly that was on the 6PM broadcast of WVVA, so I called to confirm. They told me that the issue is not resolved,but if the issue is not resolved by tomorrow night then the game will be at Richlands.
