so how brief was this college experience?
  3. Hey 05lineman, how is it you can claim that McCracken is not D1 material but Marcum is? Both of them should just go to Emory.
  4. Yeah I heard that Emory & Henry would like to have him on their level.

First of all, I never said he was not a good back (stats), but good stats does not make you a good player. There are more factors involved than how many yards he had. How many missed assignments or missed blocks do you think he could have had? Do you think that he got those stats on his own? How about the linemen in front of him or the receivers making good blocks on the outside? You have failed to mention that. As I said before though, someone on the next level must have thought that he wasn't good or he would be playing right now. Also, I never said he bragged about anything, especially D1. I am not trying to bash the kid, but what I'm saying is you guys think he was so good but yet he is not playing anywhere. Now 05lineman, the guys you mentioned didn't play because they chose not to play. Copenhagen could possibly be one of the best quarterbacks to ever come out of the area, but chose not play. Marcum on the other hand, would have probably tried to play somewhere if he had the chance, but as I said somene didn't think he was good enough.
  6. If you don't love a sport, you should not waste everyone's time that does. And I doubt that anyone told you to quit pushing yourself so hard unless it was another kid that also quit. No coach would tell a kid that. Also, if you are such a hard worker, you would not quit.
  7. I have seen him in two games this year. I have also seen what D1 programs look for in a quarterback. McCracken does not quite have what they are looking for. I'm sure he will end up somwhere, but not DI.
  8. First of all, I said nothing about your pride, but since you brought it up lets talk about it. Quitters have no pride. It is one thing to give up a sport before practice or season starts because you are burned out or whatever, but it is totally different to come out and quit once a season has started because you did not feel you were getting a fair chance at a position you can't play. If you had any pride, you would have not quit football before the last scrimmage and then went and joined another team. As far as you lifting everyday, I would bet there's not much lifting going on at Y.

Just wondering, since you think that I'm stupid who are some of these kids that are considered to be some of the best? As far as me being an athlete, some people think I am and some people think I'm not. I guess its a matter of opinion.
  10. Not yet, but, he will be. [/ QUOTE ] Time is running out for him to be a Division 1 quarterback. You think that someone like UT or the Tide will sign him when JMU (trust me I know this for fact) a D1-AA program even claims that he's not on that level. The kid may walk-on somewhere, but he's not getting a scholarship to D1.

You say that Marcum was one of the best to come out of the area and that may be so when looking at stats. Marcum had a bad attitude year in and year out though. And if he was one of the best why is he not participating in a program right now? Somebody on the next level must have thought he wasn't that good.

Marcum is finished. If he was going to do something, don't you think he would have by now.
  13. waveman92, you talk about bad faith, but you quit on football because you had no faith. In fact, there are about 4 or 5 quitters that will be on the basketball team.
  14. only hardwood you were on was the pine bench, uderricky
