Everybody is talking like Hunter and Keene are great players in a strong league. They are not. Thay are above average players on really bad teams. They have to score 25 points just so their teams have a chance of winning. My point is if they are as good as some people make them sound then they would be leading their team to victory in this district instead of third and fourth place with records well below .500. I would take Watts over any of them because not only does she score point but she also makes her teamates better and they win ball game. It would be like Thorton from FSU being name player of the year in the ACC. I don't see that happening!!!

But you look at the top 10 and Carroll got three and Graham got three but Carroll only got Co-player of the year were Graham got right outright Coach of the Year.Carroll did win the conference in a playoff. My problem is with Watts being CO-player of the year. Carroll also plays in a tough Christmas torunament against two teams that could both end-up winning the SWD. Pulaksi is tough and Patrick Co may not have made the play-offs but they could have finish one or two in the SWD. Look at what the SWD went 0-2 against the Peidmont in the play-offs. I think that Graham just played who ever the AD could find. I do know that Graham plays Blacksburg and Pulaki in football. Bottom line Watts should have been outright player of the year. Her team won the distirct and she was their leader.

No that is my point the Southwest is the weakest league in girls basketball in the State in Double AA. Who were the tough teams that Graham played outside the district

Watts is a JR. Maybe the southwest will be a little bit better.

Good Points. I think at the distirct champ you either win because of the coach of the year or the player of the year. Carroll co only get co-player of the year. Graham who finish tied for first lost to Bland Co out of the Mountain Empire(very weak single-A league) and Bland didn't even make the play-offs. Only Graham and Carroll had records over .500. Carroll played a pretty strong schedule with Floyd Co. Radford, and East Surry,NC with losses to all of the schools by 15 points or more. I think Abingdon will make the league tougher. Marion is not the program it was in the 1990's.

It is a shame that Carroll didn't get but one player in the top 5. Coach Motley should have been Coach of The Year. It sound like Graham had more talent. Watts should have been outright player of the year. Keene is a nice player but her team finish fourth in a the worst AA league in the State

But your Team should be somewhat respectable. Richlands lost to Carroll by 35 each time and even if Keene score they were not enough. POY should be a player that makes other player around you better. If keene was that good then she would have made Richlands respectable

How can Keene even be mention in the same breath as Watts. Keene team finish 4 out of 5 teams. They didn't even make the play-offs. Watts was the key to Carroll. The Coaches should be a shame of their vote. One of the two will have to be choosen for the player of the Year for all region. How about Coach of the Year

How about Carroll County? The Beasley kid

Phillips has turm out to be a better offical than he was a coach. He has a good feel for the game and try to let it develope a flow. Atlizer, Hurst, Brown, Phillips and Yost are very good

I think that Watts and Webb from Carroll, Hunter from Tazwell, Kenne from richlands and One the post players from graham. Should make up the top 5 with Watts or Webb being player of the year. Coach Motley being coach of the year. It will be intersting to see who comes out when they are released,

I think that Carroll will be alright. Graham has some size that most of bother Carroll. Both Grundy and Graham both must come to Carroll. Coach Motley and The girls will be ready to defend their house.

Is that girls or boys? Who played well?

I think that Carroll will be solid. They have the Strickland kid coming back along with the green kid. Then the singleton kid is the best of the bunch. Coach Smith does a good job getting the kids to play hard and the get better. I think that they could be a good team in the southwest. Carroll - cant beat them at home and everyone knows why lol but as far as their players i dunno who they got. and what is meant by this?

I think that Carroll will need somebody to step and play very well for them. I heard that they may have some key players hurt. Martinsville speed could be the key

I think she was forced out because she let the kids run the program. Also I think that Grundy will not be as strong.

I still think that Carroll co will have a say in who wins? It should be good. I think the Watts girls is a very good guard and they have a couple of go Freshman. They are hurting on size.

How about in Girls will? Will Carroll Co return to the top or will Grundy or Tazwell beat them?
