When you're still playing in wk.13 of HS football....it's going to be a challenge. The teams you're mtg. at this stage are there for a reason....but you have to have the confidence that you can rise to each new challenge be it speed, size, or whatever you want to insert in the equation.
The Richlands team will be ready to play....most of us know the story of a young boy that didn't fear mtg. a much larger opponent.
Brookville will come to the Ernie having confidence also....it should be a great game to watch.
...weak teams, weak regions, weak scheduling, weak classifications....weak seems to be the buzz word this season on this board. I'm to weak to even reply.......have a good "weak" sir.
I believe that Bassett will take this one..... Bassett is undefeated just like Salem....and all the talk on the boards won't win the game. Salem has the reputation of champs but Bassett has to set that aside and see they've got the season to match Salem.
Pleeezzz....don't start this. It was a hard fought game but Blfd. won. Both teams are in their respective playoffs in different states..... to mention a great kid as Ponder in a negative way is totally out of line. Don't drag Richlands into your battle.
Coach Marrs has instilled in his team more than football prowess.....also, character that will serve them well later on in life. Congrats Graham on the good year you had....and we know you will support whomever comes out of the SWD next week as the region representative.
Thanks for showing up and supporting the Blues. The RB for PC (reading the stats) amassed close to 2500 yds. in 2 seasons and had a tested combine speed of around 4.3ish. We do not choose the opponents....just play the team that has advanced to this point. All of them are not 10-0 teams but you have to play like they are.
I think what everyone is saying is that Richlands is much improved from the team they were earlier in the season...offense and defense. Again, we appreciate your support in coming to watch the game last night. Richlands is not taking any one lightly....and will practice/play as if they're a 10-0 team coming to the Ernie.
I'm typing this as #1 Bluefield is laying the wood to #16 Roane County. I'm wondering how competitive the #16 team has historically been against #1.
I do know that it used to be an 8-team playoff, as recent as 20-some years ago. I also know that Bluefield has come up from the lower 8 before.
Thoughts...as West Virginia gets smaller and smaller, and more and more consolidation, there seems to be less quality teams below #10 or #12.
Some ideas....12-team playoff. Give the top 4 a bye week, and let #5-#12 play for 4 spots, then pair them against #1-#4.
Idea #2, a 10 team playoff. Give #1-#6 a bye week, and #7-#10 play for 2 spots.
Or...should they revert to 8 teams, where it's 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, and 5-4?
Thoughts?

Sorry to quote myself, but I was reading up on Georgia high school football. Georgia has 5 classifications, and there are a total of 420 high schools in Georgia that are part of the classification system. That's enormous. I was startled how big the schools are down here, too.
"The enrollment numbers show Gwinnett County has the seven largest high schools in Georgia: Mill Creek (3,771), Collins Hill (3,643), Brookwood (3,409), Grayson (3,107), Peachtree Ridge (3,051), Berkmar (2,960) and North Gwinnett (2,898).
Forsyth Central, the smallest school slated for Class AAAAA, has 1,851 students"
Does anyone have updated info on how many schools are in each WVSSAC classification? I am guessing it's 40-45 per class.

Mill Creek HS (only 4 yrs. new) Grayson HS, Collins Hill HS and N. Gwinnett HS (kids from my sub-div. currently attend) will have their overcrowding alleviated (all in the playoffs I believe) with new high schools being built in the next 2/3 years.
As one high school FB coach stated all this "begetting" hurts you 2/3 yrs. down the road after the birth of the new HS. If a 10 player goes down, you cannot replace him w/a 9, you're now replacing him with a 4 or 3, since your pool is getting reduced w/each new high school being built in your area. The schools that used to be the "powers" are now being challenged by the new kids on the block.
My sub-div. is fighting the redist. now, mtg. scheduled for Nov. 13, as many folks moved into this area for the N.Gwinnett schools (academic and sports.) Even GA admits their classification system has flaws and some would like a new system. So, big, little or in between there's no perfect world in HS football classification.....there's only one thing for sure everyone wants a state title.
It's been a while, but the only time I road in a banana yellow Mustang was cruisin' thru Stuart. They also throw a mean beach party every June.

...how 'bout a yellow school bus from PC cruisin' into the Ernie....with a supply of gatorade... thinking that's 'bout as close as you'll get to the beach party there.

"D" is the man today. After the int. to preserve the win against the 49'ers....he handed the ball to Arthur Blank(Falcons owner) on the sidelines. What a character but we need something to ignite the team.
my take on Tolsia /James Monroe! Tolsia loads the box and forces JM to TRY to throw the ball and Tolsia swaggers out of Lindside with another playoff win!...just feelin it

God-willing that won't happen, but if it does, death by crucifiction might be re-invented in Lindside. I don't have to tell you who'll be nailed up, but his last name starts with a W.

I love football as much as the next person....but to parody the salvation of the cross to TRY and make your point is totally out of line. If I get vilified for this post so be it.
Whew....a keyboard full of wishes just before Christmas. Believe me, the rest of the SWD wants you to step up and have a good program....but you have to do it first, then you can talk about it.
They were talking about it on the radio webcast last night. They said after Fuller's 2nd td of 70 some yds (w/the game only a few mins.old) they took it down.
