  1. Although the times are very different at Bluefield now than they were when I was there, don't hate on the smaller bands. When I was there we may have been a 1/4 the size of the some of the schools we faced, but we were nearly always cleaner and much more controlled than others. I do know the guy that is teaching there now and I will hold my tongue with respect to him, but I am sure he is doing an alright job with the students.

What does it really matter? The only people that EVER watch a halftime show at most Beaver games are the parents or fans who used to be in band. Nothing different than other high schools in the regard.

  2. What's the purpose of owning a weapon like an AR-15 or any other automatic rifle? I don't see many people carrying those around as protection or taking them into the woods with them during the fall. The only reason to own a gun such as this is to have something cooler than the other guy and something fun to "play" with at the range. Maybe people who own guns like this should be required to keep them at their local shooting range and be able to use them whenever they would like to go relieve some stress by popping off a few hundred rounds.

I have no problem with people owning guns or possessing them in public. I own a gun myself, but see no reason in carrying it because in a situation like the theater shooting, I could do more harm than good. I do disagree with the fact that I could walk up to Gander Mtn. and purchase a weapon such the AR or even a .50 caliber rifle. I do realize that criminals will always break the rules, but why do we make it so easy to obtain these types of weapons?

  3. Rocks:

I am not trying to say that I am better than anyone because I haven't drank alcohol. I don't really wanna make you guys mad or anything, but I just hate alcohol and it effects, whether it be too much or any at all.

The things you listed, for the most part, are not bad for your body and your health. I just hate that all these people are taking a chance on ruining their lives and bodies.

Oh yea, I am not little! Lol.

  4. No, alcohol is the damn problem. Nothing good comes from consumption of alcohol. I don't give a shit what age you are or how much you drink. I am sure all of you who go out all time and drink will disagree with me and jump me like usual, but imagine if there wasn't alcohol in the world. No one needs it to live do they? No.

Call me dumb or whatever insult you prefer, but alcohol is the root of many a problem everyday throughout the world.

  5. Massey has always been a very shady operation. The CEO Blankenship has his ways of getting around fines and even lawsuits. In 2004, Blankenship backed Supreme Court Candidate Brent Benjamin with a nice $3 million gift just a short time after Massey had lost a lawsuit to Harman Mine Co. and had to pay $50 million to Harman. As soon as Benjamin won the seat and got settled, Massey appealed the intial court ruling. Seems like 4 years is a long while to wait to appeal doesn't it? Benjamin, of course, didn't recuse himself from the case and overturned the jury's verdict.

Massey also has had countless safety violations at every one of it's mines, but as soon as they are fined for these violations they appeal them, a process that takes years at a time to finish. During this time, even if they are cited for the same violation, since their previous violations are amidst a appeal, they cannot shut down these mines because they are not "repeat offenders."

If you have money, you can do what you want, especially if you get a man inside the Supreme Court.

I believe Blankenship needs to be put through the ringer, but I doubt it will happen...

That is our world today isn't it...

  6. I believe the keys to WVU winning are playing the same defense they have been all tourney and making shots throughout the game. A long dry spell will doom the Mountaineers against a team like Kentucky.

I don't think UK has faced a defensive challenge like WVU all year. How many teams have a 6'9" athletic man child guarding the top of the key? I believe the length of a Devin Ebanks or Kevin Jones will give Wall and Bledsoe an issue with their usual offense. I think the most important player for us to cover is going to be Cousins. He is not nearly as physical as say a Greg Monroe and we saw how Wellington Smith manhandled Monroe in the Big East tourney. I also think the Cam Thoroughman will give WVU some good minutes in the paint on defense and can bang around with the bigs from UK. I think the biggest matchup problem will be when both Pat Pat and Cousins are in at the same time, because I am not sure how Ebanks/Jones will do against either of the physical big men.

If WVU can hold UK to around the 60 point mark, they have a pretty good chance to make it to Indy.

Something that is plagued WVU for much of the season is poor shooting and dry spells during many of their games. The defense and good foul shooting has been able to pull us through during the majority of these instances, but this would be a critical lapse in a game like this one. I do believe that if he wants, Da'Sean can put this entire team on his back, but I would rather he not have to, but that means that everyone is going to have to chip in. Kevin Jones has been playing lights out, but I wish Ebanks would have one of those games like most of the nation thought he would have throughout this entire season tomorrow night. It is going to be a helluva game. Good luck to both sides.

    Oh yea...

23 turnovers isn't going to work either.

  7. Even if Kentucky does win this game and goes on to win the title, it will all be taken away in about 3 years, right after Calipari tucks his tail and gets out of town, when the NCAA finds that none of his sensational recruits have ever even heard of a college extrance exam.
