They do that alot down here in Charlotte. They can transfer into private schools and gain an extra year of eligibility. They cant however transfer going into their senior year. Most of the kids down here go in as juniors and repeat their junior year.
As for right now. Math, Science, and EC (special ed.) teachers are not part of the future layoffs. This is great news for me because I teach EC. I'm glad i took my mother's advice and got the special ed endorsement to go with my regular ed degree.
$4Million in budget cuts? I know the people here in Charlotte wish we had that type of budget cuts. We are looking at loosing 400 teachers and 80 pricipals with 6 new schools being built. WE have to give back so much money it's crazy down here right now.
I had that group of guys when I did my student teaching and I was impressed at how smart he was back then. I know how much he means to Ansel, Marvin, and Shawn and the rest of those guys. I'm glad that they are still running around together and still very clsoe.
HE was arguing with a parent through a chain linked fence and then pushed the fence into the mans face. This was in Friday's paper. I was at the game last night and it was a hell of a game. Plenty of athletes out there. Butler has 5 Div 1 players, 1 is going to Va. Tech.
I can remember us running a fake punt against C-burg back in '91 when the score was out of reach but it wasn't the coaches that called it. During the season we always worked on special teams and what to do in certain situations. If you could tell that the defense is going to rush to block the punt then the call was made that "THEIR COMING" and the punter just simply threw it to the tight end. Those of you who played in the early 90's may remember this. Coach Carlock wasn't very happy with it but that's what was taught and of course he had to take the backlash for it being done. Point is that it's not always the coaches that make these decisions.
Yes, I agree that he should have informed his employer. Also, I had the pleasure of teaching at POCY for 2 years and got to know most if not all of the kids there and there some very smart kids there. My last year there "ALL" ofMr. Mcgraw's English students passed their SOL's so I guess there is only place for his students to go and that is down because you can't get any higher than a 100% passing rate. There are some very good teachers there and they try their best to help those kids. As for the Athletes I'm willing to bet that (and I know that this is only 1) Brandon Pauley could play for ANY school in the area. There may be a FEW more but what's the point in naming them when people will still get on here and count and say okay that's only 5 or 6, but to them that is alot.
I was just wondering if you guys have every heard of a little thing called "SPECIAL EDUCATION"? Not everyone has the ability to learn to read or write. There are different levels of Spec.Ed. You don't have to be in the special olympics to be labeled as a special needs student and some kids can only be tought functional skills, like how to do a job. Be it a brick mason, welding, janitorial, stocking, etc.... You get the picture. And these kids come from EVERY school in our area. You guys definately should think about stuff before you just start rambling off at the mouth. This kid you were reffering to may have been a special needs student.
I don't how I left off my man Chris Stacy at LB. He was one hell of a OLB. Big Roland P. was a hell of a player also on our '90 team. And I love Easley alot but I wuold take Latimer all day every day at the FB spot.
LB's C. Patton, Mike Jude, Dave Lawson, Phillip Reese
DE's C. Bradshaw, JJ Caffrey
DB's R. Oakes (By for the BEST ever @ corner) A. Bradshaw @ the saftey and at the other corner Jake Remines and I know some of you will laugh but he could cover better than anybody but Reed.
There aren't enough a-holes out there on the field anymore. These guys in MY OPINION are to nice. You always need 1 or 2 GOONS. Just ask Temples former basketball coach. (HAHA) They do need to get a little more physical.
