  1. My response was to you saying that we do not need an A/C system or heat, NOT that Graham's heating system was worse than any other school's. Again you took my post out of context in order for you to try to make a fool out of me. Ben, many people have seen your posts, including GHS administration and are appalled at the fact that you a GHS alumni are down playing the fact that Graham could use atleast a few renovations, yes I may be selfish, in wanting MY school, OUR school to be better, but is that not what Mr. O'Neal has been pushing since he became principal, G-MEN PRIDE.
  2. A) then why the heck has the school board been trying to put a new heating system (that never worked) and and new air conditioning system (which still doesn't work) all year. B) the heating system that you are referring to as being good is the boiler system, which has to be repaired like 3 times a year for the last five years. Why, because the pipes kept bursting do to the shift of the school. You never did pay much attention to your surroundings did you?
  3. Then i guess the school board will give them the same worthless A/C system that Graham got. I am sorry that the link didn't work go to the BDT website and type in Unwelcome guests and it will take you to the article.
  4. I am friends with many of the kids from pocy and will be the first to welcome them, plus they will be an asset to many of the sports and academic teams. Also, yes I expect you to believe that the buzzard defecation and vomit causes problems with the roof. This article was written last year about the damage, http://www.bdtonline.com/archivesearch/local_story_029193920.html.
  5. Like I said the other schools COULD use renovations, all I am saying is that GHS could use some too. The "other" renovations include: heat and A/C that actually work (the new system isn't working), the main roof is deteriating due to the feces and vomit from the turkey buzzards, and half the desks are falling apart. Now again Beano, lets get back to pocy, you have a hard time letting go don't you.
  6. Dear Beano, Did you by any chance read the paper this morning on how the TCSB admitted that GHS needs a new roof and how it was to be put on right after school ends, thus this renforces my statement that Graham is in need of some major renovations. However, in your response to my post you stated that it was the end of the discussion, but I believe that it has not yet been settled, do to the fact that according to the students that visited Graham on Monday most of the kids are considering going to Bland and possibly even Bluefield. FROY
  7. So now it has come down to my typing, ok fine from now on I will type correctly. However, I do not see what the heck my typing style has to do with what we are talking about. In the last week this thread has gone from talking about pocy closing to making sneer comments about each other, so if it is alright with the rest of you, I would like to return to the original topic.
  8. one i am 17 and i have seen the politics of the county ...gary o didnt retire...i know from two school board members he was asked to resign...and yes there was talk abou graham needing more money...there has always been talk about how the school is falling apart....and if you read my previous message it states that i never said the other schools couldnt use renovations...an unbiased opinion...however yes the school board funds us to play at mitchell but if you do remember they started an arguement last year as to paying for us to play there....and the school board needs to be more concerned with task at hand...relocating pocy kids...and less concerned with other stuff....at the latest meeting with the school principles the school board stated that all "Bumping and grinding" at school dances should be regulated by a county wide policy...why are they worried about this when there are bigger tasks at hand
  9. ok then fine....let the money go to all the schools EQUALLY...but the chances are with the school board being biased and all....tazewell and richlands will see more money per school than graham schools will....and within the next ten -fifteen years...they will turn their backs on graham just like they did pocy
  10. ok then that shows the need for new schools...not just another coat of paint on the old ones...i never said that the other schools couldnt use some maintenance....i simply said that i..along with many of the people who work and attend graham schools....think the money should stay here....
  11. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] yea the most money per student and the worst school...like i said in the very beginning i dont think they should have closed pocy....and if you remember i said IF there is a large amount of money which i highly doubt ..it should stay here...so no comment about lowering yourself to argue with a junior [/ QUOTE ] ok now you really have no idea what you are talking about...the worst school?? come on Froy... [/ QUOTE ] im talking about condition wise...all the graham schools could use some renovations....
  12. yea the most money per student and the worst school...like i said in the very beginning i dont think they should have closed pocy....and if you remember i said IF there is a large amount of money which i highly doubt ..it should stay here...so no comment about lowering yourself to argue with a junior
  13. ok almighty beano...you are right i am wrong...apparently... you know what is going on in the county better than i do...in fact you have my nomination for school board...they need some body with your widespread intelligence...but it is kinda funny how youll lower yourself to argue with a "moron and bigget" on issues that are completely irrelevant to the issue at hand...pocy closing...whether you agree with it or not...there are atleast a few things the money could go for at graham...whether it be new books, maintenance on the buildings or anything else...yea tazewell could use a few things as could richlands...but i am worried that with pocy gone and graham the only school on this side of the county...that the sb will turn its back on us much like they did with pocy the last couple of years
  14. ok..i high school diploma just shows hes older and hes had more classes...it doesnt show if he is smarter or not...
  15. my father played on the first ghs baseball team in i think '73 and he said there wasnt any cussing..but that you always tried to get into the other teams' head...and there is no rule in the rule book that states you cant try to psych out the other team...as long as you dont cuss and turn it into a bench clearing brawl...if this happens then by all means run the team til they puke....just the other day one of our players was heard cussing...we had 10 laps....and from now on for every choice word heard its one lap...but unless it get out of hand ....i dont see waht the problem is...
  16. thats BS..i know for a fact how his little "football concession tryed to take away from the concessions sold by the wrestling boosters.....and the comment concerning the baseball game..was directed toward both teams...it was a redneck fight...that should have never happened...both teams were at fault and it was handled completely wrong....and as far as me being a "moron and biggot"...guess ill just have to live with what you think of me ...frankly i dont see why a college freshman who doesnt know the day to day happenings at GHS...has any reason to argue with someone who sees what happens at the school and knows about the politics of the schoolboard....
  17. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] is tazewell considered western part of the county? if so, some pocy kids will go there too and that won't be fair to them.. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, Tazewell is considered in the western part of the county. I think when people say the eastern half of the county they mean Blueifeld and Pocahontas. The western part is Richalnds and Tazewell. At least thats what I always thought. It dosnt matter to GHS189 where the kids from Pocahontas are going...he is from Graham so he thinks they should get all the money. [/ QUOTE ] yea thats what i think...i think tazewell county school board has there heads stuck so far up their butts its not even funny...for the kids that go to tazewell i pity them that they have to deal with rednecks the cant even play a baseball game without getting into a barnyard brawl!!
  18. get your facts straight it isnt the people of double gates...it the town and the tierneys who own leatherwood farms ...that development has been proposed for five years and all they have done was build a new town hall
  19. cept for dougs almighty football team!!!
  20. so that the people paying taxes in pocy dont see the money they are paying.....richlands may have to lowest per student cost...but they also have pretty much the nicest facilities
  21. ok so argue with me on every little detail....my point is the money that is saved should stay on the east side of the county..
  22. ok so do what you said give it to all sports except football....they have enough ...im sure soccer could stand some new equipment and uniforms and stuff, as could baseball softball track volley ball wrestling golf and every other sport that "the almighty" you know who doesnt give a rats behind about....
  23. i know of quite a few that have wrecked this year...chardy...brittany hayes etc....and im not talking about me getting to school i live 5 min from it and drive a 4wd truck im talking about the people on top of springville mtn ....or who have to come over trashdump hill.....and i know colleges down get out much....however most the the people who go to BC live within 5-10 miles from the campus....GIS's gym was funded by parents...and all im saying is that the eastern side needs the majority of the money...and as an alumni from graham...and had an inside look at what is wrong with the school...i would think you would see my side of this....
  24. im talking about during the winter when we have like and inch of ice and we still go to school on regular schedule while if there is a half inch in tazewell or richlands then we are closed for three days
  25. because the money was going to the east side of the county anyway so it should stay for dudley. GIS GMS AND GHS...again i say that the eastern side deserves it....i dont care what you say the school board has always turned its back on this side of the county money wise and weather wise
