Looking at Richland's remaining schedule and trying to determine who would be the toughest opponent left, I believe it might be Honaker? Can anyone tell me how they are doing this year besides their record? Have they beat any quality teams? Are they more of a passing team or running team?
Just wondering because I did not see that games, How many of the turnovers could be credited to the Union D comin' up wit the big play they needed to force?
I think Richlands QB forced 1 INT that was just a bad read to his WR. I would give them credit to one of the turnovers, but the rest were due to forcing the ball instead of throwing it away and holding the ball like a loaf of bread. AJ was also fighting for extra yards and just didn't pay attention to the ball and lost it.
I was at the game. And if you knew anything about football you would understand this. Richlands was held to few points, but not by Union. They turned ball over 4 times which lead to Union points. Basic ball security and not beating yourself Richlands wins this game by 30 - 40. Richlands had ball inside of 10 two times and got 0 points. And also agree that if Devon was healthy it would have been 30 - 40 at the half.
I don't want to take anything from Union they played great, but come on. Also to the AA comment, Union now has more students than Richlands. Richlands is on verge to having enough students to drop to single A. And If Union stays at this level of students for a couple of years they will be able to apply for AA status. So I don't want to hear any of these new combine schools giving the "woe is me" attitude because they are playing a AA school.

It's not a rivalry if one side annually butchers the other. Rivalry implies that the two schools are actually competitive with one another. Abingdon's last win was back during the Clinton administration, wasn't it?
Try the Reagan administration - I believe it was 1988 the last time Abingdon beat Richlands (Don't kill me if I am wrong) I know according to VHSL-REF that they are 8-0 the last 8 times played
He was issued the Gas Key by the Principal(which is a fact) for that very reason to get that equipment, if that isn't approval, what would it be? If your manager or boss tells you to do something and you do it, why should you be ONLY person held responsible for that action?
He was let go because of political reasons with a School board member that threaten to fire him because of a gas card issue that was given to him by the principal of Wise Count Central
the reason I said good job Carroll is because of a couple players on richlands they need big time attitude adjustments using the cutthroat gesture after they beat us this year and flipping the bird at our fans just play the game you dont need that crap. Good Job CC

wow.... sounds like a lot of complaining...and the only classless things are going on are the complaints...stop complaining and take it out on the court during the tournament. Nobody likes a sore loser
I am not sure where your are getting your information that the game was canceled just hours before they were suppose to play. I was at the Marion game the night before and they had already told the parents and the players that they canceled the game for Saturday. Also I live in Johnson City and have seen Elizabethon play and I believe their Varsity girls team would beat them. A game that they could have benefited from would have been nice, but this game wouldn't have. They need to rest before the district play and i think it was the right move.
