defeated Northside 12-10 in a tight game- Northside beat Cave Spring 37-21. This game will be a test for both teams .

Lance , I agree with you. Rather than make excuses for Richlands not winning by a wider margin they ought to look at it as surviving which is all you need to do in the playoffs . They ought to thank Cave because this could be a game that stretched Richlands which is what they needed . Cave was just talented . Cave had 2 touchdowns where they just got by Richlands players and they were not going to be caught . But football is a team sport and Richlands had the better team unlike last year where Cave was better .

prediction was accurate as cave had a good shot with their athleticism and hung tough but Richlands went to the I to eat clock and put away the Knights . The Tornadoes remind me of Salem as they are usually in the running every year .

do not doubt that martinsville is quick , maybe quicker but they are nowhere near the same team as Cave Spring . Martinsville would not win a game in the River Ridge . I think probably everybody on here would agree with that but I think Richlands has a good balanced hard-nosed team that may be good enough to challenge . I would like to give a shout out for last years champion Northside . there coach is really building something and the Vikings are usually a talented bunch .

On which Cave Spring team shows up . I believe you can throw the Salem game out the window because Salem was shorthanded that day but Cave has shown the pattern of falling out quickly if you get on them early as Salem did last year .The Christiansburg Cave game score is misleading because that game was a 1 touchdown game until the last few minutes .

I may be wrong but Richlands on their field will be tough and I do not think overall , Cave is as tough as Salem was in 2005 . Cave has some great players but may lose because of tradition and toughness of Richlands. Should be a great game but I could be wrong this is a game played on a field but Cvae is better at home on turf . Cave has better players but Richlands has better team .

Sounds like voters are upset at Democrats but don't really like Republicans any better but as usual in a midterm election , voters are voting against the party in power as they want fast results . Also , I really think this is the reason for the Tea Party rise given the fact that Republican congresses have not done much better as far as keeping spending in check . There are some people who think that both national parties are elitist Yale and Harvard graduates who sell out to their friends , and thus the rise of the tea party . Coach Maghenbauer , like Gman likes to point out on here says injuries are a part of the game as well as illness and other things but 7 starters not playing along with a few backups can be a problem against a good team like Cave Spring . The yardage in the game was fairly even but Salem had five turnovers . At times this year Salem has looked like a state title contender and sometimes look as though they would have a problem with their middle school team . I understand Marty Bishop , who was one of the suspensions for last weeks game , will take Seth Fishers spot at linebacker , for this game . Junior Colton Taylor will start at Bishops defensive end spot . Fisher apparently has finished his career at Salem with knee injury . He had offers from William and Mary and Richmond and was high on UVA list of recruits . Fisher was 6'2" 222 pound linebacker fullback who ran a 4.5 40 . He was stopped by a ACL injury which some people are saying is a problem on the Cave Spring Hidden Valley turf . It did not appear to be a freak play or anything out of the ordinary when he was injured . Anyway , I know most of you do not care but good luck tonight with your kids .

Fisher hurt early , Cave played their butts off and Salem had some food poisoning , the flu and a few suspensions of their starters . As many as seven starters involved in sickness or activities which caused Maghenbauer to suspend a few starters . I am not sure if Salem can come back from this . This was the worst beat down in Maghenbauers career . I have heard some rumours about certain activities going on but not sure .

This will be a tough game . First of all the Knights are coming off a tough loss in which they were expected to win against Allegheny . Second Salem smashed the Knights last year 42-0 at Salem . Thirdly the game is in Southwest Roanoke . The Knights lost to Northside 37-21 in a game that was tied at halftime . Salem won against Northside 17-13 in a very close physical game . The Knights are looking for redemption . I do not think Salem is at their best yet . Their best game was against Franklin county where they dominated in the second half to pull away 34-14 . With Sam Wright , Josh Wooddrum and Mike Cole , Cave Spring has big play ability . That has haunted Salem all year , mainly through the air . Salem's run defense has been very good for the most part but their defensive backs have shown susceptibility to get burned . Salem normally uses 4 running backs and offensive line is getting better and better and they are very physical . This will be Cave Spring stars against Salem Physical play up front . Salem has also not cured their turnovers and penalties but they continue to win .

Christiansburg is playing the best with Salem having problems with ball security and penalties- this bunch not very disciplined so far .

Patrick Henry Patriots are improving are 2-2 against River Rudge competition beating Hidden Valley 35-7 and Blacksburg 41-17 but losing to Cave Spring 33-7 and Christiansburg 40-6 .
