Good game tonight....Richlands outplayed and outcoached Graham. I thought it might have been close but Richlands' speed took over and they were able to run away with the game in the second half. Graham's secondary and linebackers were way to slow and weren't tackling well tonight at all.
Anyone hear that after the Graham/Tazewell game that Tazewell destroyed the visitors locker room? I had heard that there were holes punched in the wall and that the benches were ripped out of the floor. If this is true, where were the coaches and how could this have been allowed to happen?
My assesment will be based on what I have witnessed from both teams. Graham has the size and ability to control the ball on offense and will need to do so to keep the ball away from Richlands' offense. Graham does not have the speed or athletes on defense to match up against Richlands' offense. If Graham attempts to cover RHS recievers with linebackers it will be a mismatch and will be exploited. And before those GMan faithful get redfaced about any of this let me explain that in the 2 games that have watched the kids have absolutely played to the highest level of their ability. They just have not matched up well against teams that have speed or the spread. Richlands will bring both to the table. IF Graham cannot pressure the QB I forsee a continous clock in the second half.
That's a good assessment Popeye. Graham will try to cover wideouts with linebackers...if Richlands coaching staff is smart they will try to exploit this. The Graham d-line must get to the QB to make him rush his throws.
I don't know enough about Grundy this year to make a prediction. Graham did play much better against Princeton...but Pctn was very unimpressive themselves...they have about as good coaching as Graham does.

Maybe I should've said could've...they had the game won at Va High...and IMO should've/could've beat Princeton last night. I agree with 99% of GHS fans that they won't win a game this year.

lookoutmountain has apparently not seen any Graham games as of late...the players never quit, they give an all out effort...they just aren't put in the right positions, or right situation to win. Graham should have at least two wins this year.
Don't know who is telling you the "junior high" sux but they are telling you lies. They are playing good football and have good coaching. Plus, Graham's JV is 2-0 and playing very good football. Get your facts straight. The middle school team has new coaches this year that are doing a good job with a young team. A bunch of 7th graders get alot of playing time. Would be nice to see Marrs at a middle school game or doing something to promote the program from the rec league and middle school. Heck from what I hear he barely shows up for JV games.
Not that it would matter but I've heard a bunch of Graham players have been out of school/practice sick this week. May make things even worse for Graham.
Thanks for the info. This goes along with the report I recieved. Doesn't this have to be reported by the officials and wouldn't the second flag warrant a ejection? Lastly, it was stated that the kid was waving his hands above his head trying to get the crowd to applaud. If this part is true and he was not removed from the game after the first infraction, then coaches should be disciplined and suspended from ANY and ALL duties. If they felt they were wronged in some way by the officials, does it make it right to take cheap shots at a innocent kid? Who are the coaches and I will encourage my friends to make a phone call to Abington High School. Where is the school board for their county located? Thank you in advance. I know the kids father and maybe he should be encouraged to make a phone call. The QBs father is a High School coach and I would expect him to take action if the hits were indeed maliscious in nature.
I didn't see the kid taking the cheap shots wave his arms because when it happened I looked at the sideline to see if the Abingdon coaches were going to yell at him (they didn't). The next time it happened I looked at the sideline again and there still was no reaction. I was told the kid did wave his arms up and down after the first cheap shot and then after the second one he got up yelling like he was trying to pump up his team. A real coach would've jerked this kid off the field after the first cheap shot...unless the coach instructed him to do it. He could've really hurt the QB.
It is funny listening to all these people talking about coach wyatt, it is the same ones who get on here and bitch and complain and they have never played for him. The kids who are playing for him now have good things to say. Just like Lance said look at what it was before, hey Tazewell could be Graham right about now.
I can't imagine another school around here allowing themselves to get in the shape Graham is in now. Wouldn't wish that on our biggest rival.
Congrats. I heard that Abingdon had a kid hit the QB on two consecutive plays well after the QB took a knee. He was flagged both times and was trying to pump up the crowed after each cheap shot. Is this true? If so why was he not ejected and will the coaches be repremanded for not removing him from the game? Many people felt as though he was encouraged to do this from the sidelines by his reaction and the lack of the coaches removing him from the game. If so someone needs to report this nonsense, maybe the officials are required to do this, I dont know. The fans said it was number 32. Any input would be appreciated. Once again this could be total rumor but I doubt it coming from the sources the info was received.
YOTD..this was absolutely true..no doubt this was the most classless thing I've seen in football in a long time. Our QB took a knee to run out the clock and the Abingdon kid hit him late and hard every time. I saw no reaction from the Abingdon coaches when this happened. All the ref's did was throw a flag. This kid should've been ejected and should not be allowed to play in their next game IMO. The coaches should be disciplined as well...but I bet it won't happen. Pure garbage from Abingdon.
