djr4hurleyfb 12 Report Share Posted November 2, 2005 I'm not exactly sure what the fuss is about when it comes to Hurley's performance against Haysi and Honaker, not to mention the potential up-coming matchups in the playoffs (most likely against Appalachia, slight possibility of JI Burton). Haysi (or Honaker, not a pick, just listing) could be representing D2 in the State Semi-Finals (or Finals). Appalachia is a storied program with one of the states best coaches ever and Burton is one of the two or three best D1 schools in the entire state. Hurley will finish with its first winning season since 1996 and just its second playoff appearance since then. Teams like the above mentioned need more teams like Hurley to build there programs up and get stronger and more competitive. Otherwise, the task of bringing home a state title to this side of the state only gets a little bit harder. Encourage every team. Competition breeds excellence.
