mv91 259 Report Share Posted October 31, 2006 I would love to see Virginia go to seeding instead of regional system they have in place. It would not be playing the same teams in regional every year.

sandman 13 Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 [ QUOTE ] I would love to see Virginia go to seeding instead of regional system they have in place. It would not be playing the same teams in regional every year. [/ QUOTE ] That would work right up to the point that Fredricksburg has to come to Richlands for a first round playoff game. Then the bitching and moaning to the VHSL would begin. Don't forget that complaining about travel time and "mud" is the primary reason why Graham/Tazewell/Richlands will never again host a state title game. OU81 10 Author Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 i wish the complaining would do the state of wv some good... that is about traveling to wheeling. seems the body of the state of wv is against the northern panhandle on this. the mud is not an issue there anymore since the '03 mudbowl... turf now. but the travel time is definitely the BIG issue. it needs to be somewhere in the state so that noone drives more than say three hours or so... i.e. morgantown, charleston, parkersburg, huntington... plus the issues of big revenue for the states of ohio and pa and the "marriage" of the wheeling super six committee and the wvssac. the only way to get the super six out of wheeling is if another city's committee can pad the wvssac's pockets more. and contrary to what all the ppl in the northern panhandle think.... the super six in wheeling is not about the kids... its about money
mavsgrad 28 Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 i agree, wheeling is certainly not a central location. besides every year there are several southern WV teams that end up going to state. charleston makes the most sense to me. that's where basketball is held. MavsRock 21 Report Share Posted November 2, 2006 I Like the system the use in college and pros, rotate it. Charleston, Wheeling, Huntington, Morganown, Martinsburg, Bluefield, and Parkersburg all have facilities that could host it.
phatbeaver 10 Report Share Posted November 3, 2006 Great point ... you make a lot of sense.. unfortunately it makes "too much sense" for the WVSSAC or any of the cities that you mentioned to get together and make it a reality..... it is kind of sad that none of the officials up in Parkersburg have realized your concept and capitalized on it.
