Beckley_WWHS 10 Report Share Posted September 15, 2007 Beckley was able to overcome some costly mistakes and defensive breakdowns to pick up a road win at Princeton. Blaine Mayo had 12 carries for 154 yards and a TD and Marquel Ali had 18 carries for 153 yards and a TD. Both had long TD runs. Ali added five catches for 61 yards and a TD. Quarterback Ryan Stafford had two TD passes. As I said earlier, there were way too many mistakes for Beckley in this game. Several drive stopping penalties, three turnovers, and the defense struggled at times. Those things won't work against some of the better teams on the schedule. Still a good win. MavsRock 21 Report Share Posted September 16, 2007 Sounds like Woodrow's pretty good this year. Good year to be good in WV AAA too. Outside of Parkersburg, I think the field's wide open this year, Morgantown, Martinsburg, and Parkersburg South have all suffered some big losses, so Woodrow could very well be a top 5 team. Like you said though, they have to quit putting the ball on the ground, this makes at least the second game they've been fortunate enough to overcome bad fundamentals, if they keep doing that, their luck will run out at some point.
