He's Back....wonder if his idiot son will join him in this new gig....

NEW MANCHESTER -- Tony Filberto is back!

The former Weir High football coach, returns for his second go-around with Oak Glen.

Filberto, who was approved by the Board of Education with a 4-1 vote, is no stranger to Oak Glen. He was the head coach of the Bears from 1977-82 and currently is a driver’s education instructor at the John D. Rockefeller Career Center. He replaces Jeff Woofter, who coached two seasons, and stepped down after the 2007 season.

Filberto has his work cut out for him. The Bears have complied a 6-43 record in the past five seasons.

Filberto last coached at Weir High, when he led the Red Riders to the 2004 Class AA state semifinal, before losing at Bluefield.

The "East Liverpool Review" reports Filberto was one of seven candidates interviewed for the job.
