MavsRock 21 Report Share Posted October 10, 2008 http://www.legacy.com/bdtonline/Obituaries.asp?Page=Lifestory&PersonId=118653002 Thought it appropriate to say something about Mel on here. If there has been a bigger Peterstown and James Monroe football fan, I haven't meet them. In all seriousness Mel was one of the best peaople to be around I knew of, and he'll definetly be missed. Thankfully, I know he's in a much better place, he actually made the statement about 5 years ago "Lord don't take me in the fall, love that football, love that turkey hunting". Well, God saw fit to take him in the fall, fortunetly though Mel didn't have to suffer very long at all with the cancer he had, and died in his chair, not in a hosptial or nursing home. Interestingly enough one of the more knowledgeable Narrows fans I knew, Lilburn Craig passed away about 2 weeks ago, these 2 knew eachother well and both would've probably been in Lindside tonight if they could've been. Do remember Mel's family in your prayers, they knew this was coming, but Mel's daughter passed away less than a year ago, so they've had it pretty rough as of late, and they are good folks as well.
