deuceswild 15 Report Share Posted April 10, 2009 Remember back in September when the BHC wrote that article about how they chose to cover the best games in the area but couldn't cover them all? How about this for a poor example of choosing "the best" game in the area last night.... BY ANTHONY STEVENS SPORTS CORRESPONDENT HONAKER, Va. – When you’re still looking for your first win after six games, you don’t really want to see a trip to Harding Field on the schedule. Council found that out Thursday, whens Honaker remained undefeated, cruising to a 16-3 Black Diamond District win. Honaker is 5-0. Council is 0-7. “This is a tough place to play,” Council coach David Bostic said. “Honaker is a disciplined team. There’s not a better coach than Tom Harding. He always has these boys ready to play. They have a lot of good players and will be tough to handle this year.” More here if you can stomach it: http://www.tricities.com/tri/sports/high_school_prep/article/baseball_honaker_hammers_council/22828/ I don't get it? He pretty much states it right there, Honaker is 5-0 and Council is 0-7. Why give it a write-up? There were tons of more exciting baseball, softball, soccer, and tennis matches last night!! LPDBSBL 10 Report Share Posted April 21, 2009 Anthony Stevens, the sports correspondent who submitted the article to BHC is also the radio announcer for WXLZ out of Lebanon that covers Russell County baseball games. He is also a sports writer for The Lebanon News, so between those two duties, I am sure he was there to cover Honaker and submitted the story to BHC.
