Dan River tops East. Mont. for top spot in state basketball poll

Dan River overtook Eastern Montgomery for the top spot in the newest Virginia Associated Press high school boys basketball poll, released Monday evening.

 

Dan River leapfrogged East. Mont. by three points in the Group A poll. The mustangs fell to #2.

 

Several other local teams made the top 10 in Group A: Altavista at #5, Radford at #6, and Galax at #7.

 

In Group AA, Christiansburg jumped one spot to #4 this week, following a loss by Waynesboro. The Blue Demons are 10-0.

 

The only other local team in the top 10 in Group AA is Rockbridge, who rose two spots to #7.

 

No local teams are ranked in the top 10 for Group AAA.
