Strong departed with the team on a road trip to Ohio July 26 and they were to play at home July 28. The Miners are a Prospect League team comprised of college level players and they play throughout the summer. Strong will join the Western Carolina Catamounts in the fall. Richmond, Nashville, Slippery Rock and Lorain County are among the teams in the league with the Miners. The Miners are based in Beckley and play at Epling Stadium. The team hosted this year’s all star game which pitted east all stars against west all stars from the 14 team league. The miners roster is comprised of college players from across the country.
