dmspartan 10 Report Share Posted December 6, 2006 After trailing for most of the game, Martinsville tightened up on defense and pulled ahead late in the 4th quarter only to see PH take a slender 1-point lead with less than 5 seconds on the clock. Taking the ball full-court, Victor Hairston - late of the football team - scored his only two points of the game on a driving lay-up. As play resumed after calling time-out with 2.1 seconds showing on the clock, PH - under the 'Dogs basket - throws the ball out of bounds at half-fourt without anyone from either team touching it. Martinsville then called its final time-out to set-up an inbounds play. With both teams out of time-outs, PH failed to foul as time ran out. go4st8 10 Report Share Posted December 6, 2006 Bulldogs did well considering that PH was undefeated and already had two games under their belt, while Martinsville has only practiced for one week with their full team. Five of the varsity players just finished football, including 3 first team All Region IV players Snook Hairston (RB), Tracey Hairston (DB), and J.D. Tyree (DE).
