Lee is still playing and they announced on the 28th.  3 of 4 regions are out.  This week the Robert E. Lee quarterback was named the offensive player of the year in Region 2B. The senior can add that to his Shenandoah District offensive player of the year award announced earlier this season.

Williams will lead his team into the Class 2 state playoffs this Saturday when Lee High hosts Poquoson at 2 p.m. It will mark the first state playoff appearance for Lee football since 1990.

Williams was also the first-team quarterback, joining four Lee teammates on the region's first team.

In addition to Williams, other Lee players on the first team included Tavion Hall, named on both the offensive and defensive lines; Tre Simmons at wide receiver; Dylan Culpen at linebacker; and kicker Marcos Sasia.

Wilson Memorial's Collin Ballew was named first-team tight end and Buffalo Gap's Jay Johnson was first team defensive back.

The defensive player of the year was Clarke County defensive end Bryan Wallace.

On the second team, Lee had one more player, DB Patrick Cabell.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Gap had five players land on the second team: Johnson at wide receiver, Carter Rivenburg at both running back and kick returner, defensive end Ryan Wilcher, Brandon McCray on defensive line, and Jacob Thompson for defensive all-purpose.

Stuarts Draft's Kasey Branch was named second-team linebacker and teammate Antonio Ruiz-Haynes was in the defensive backfield. Wilson's Xavier Black was named second-team offensive line.
